Long lost Cainslair fanatic returns to the fold.

Howdy y'all, just thought I'd drop a note and give thanks that the Cainslair crew is still up and running strong.

Way back in the day I played on the Cainslair Day of Defeat server -- from 1.3b onwards -- under my clan handle of =]MAD[=-NO GIR THATS BAD ! ! !, and I am both amazed and heartened to see that the Cainslair crowd is still vigorously chugging along.

So, from an old-school fps player that was quite literally playing on Cainslair (and, Iirc, Frenchy's Pit) on the day that the Towers were hit, many thanks for keeping up the good work for all this incredible length of time.

An impressive achievement indeed, gentlemen, and one that very few servers and their admins have been able to pull off.

    ...

Oh, and as a side note, I've heard from a lot of the senior admins on other servers that the admin controls on official EA servers can be a bit *cough* less than ideal at the moment, so if you guys are stuck in the same situation, a special shout out to you guys for putting up with the craziness and still keeping your server up and running strong.

Back in the day I did my own time as an admin, and I know that it can be a thankless job indeed, so if you guys are having to put up with buggy netcode and kludgy controls on top of the usual hullaballoo of being admins, you've got both my sympathies and my appreciation.

    Gracias, gents.

Welcome back. EA is definitely tough to deal with but we seem to have some kind of special group to be together all these years.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
