Exactly! That made me laugh pretty hard, he sounded so much like some foreigner, they just say whatever english they know, even if it has nothing to do with the question/topic/etc. I am not sure, but I would assume if someone bumps an old thread, they dont really realize it was old, but that is just what I think, that is why I do it when I do do it.
