I'm waiting for a good batch of processors to be given out at work. I got my QX9750 chip two years ago and it's still better than the last batch of chips they were giving away.
Hopefully we get some i5's or even i7's, but I don't want to rebuild my rig until I get one.
I've already upgraded to 8gb of ram and my GTX460 is on the USPS truck to be delivered today. That's the best I can do without getting a new motherboard.

I'm using similar to you i think. An i5 with a gtx460, though only 4gb ddr3. Will probably jump to 8 depending on once we see some benchmarks closer to launch.

repi said the trailer demo was run on 1 GTX 580 card.

I wonder if they're going to finalize the trailer series with the earthquake. That should be technically amazing given this graphics engine, but it may be too key to the story to toss out there. Unless they have another surprise waiting.

GiantBomb was able to get their hands on an exclusive Battlefield 3 screen shot from the GDC event. The screen shot is of a US soldier going into a prone position with an M1A2 tank behind him. The setting is a Metropolitan area, probably that of New York or Western Europe.




Some are stating that it's a multi-player leak, however, there is no evidence in the photo to support it. The Battlefield 3 logo is in the bottom right corner, so it's more likely that this screen shot is just that, an actual screen shot and not an excerpt from a video.

Update:
This screen shot is probably in Paris. The bridge is very similar to what we see in Paris and the light posts are very similar as well. Thanks to Veldrin.

I could tell by the building style that a U.S. city was unlikely. Not completely ruled out, but unlikely. It's a European style that is fairly rare in U.S. cities.
