BF3 to be available on Steam

It seems EA wants all pre-order & CE profits. After the release day rush, and game sales have slowed, Steam will have it available for sale. My question... will it run on Steam or will I still need Origin?

what is the big difference if any between both companies?
I know orgin is EA ... but what difference in buying from either one.

There isn't a difference between them. But to me, and everyone involved in the whole Steam vs. Origin debacle, it's all about being faithful to a single party.

I like having one game client (in this case Steam) where I have all my friends already added, my games patched and available, and the idea that wherever I go, no matter how many times, I can download the games I already own. Steam also gives an opportunity to small developers to release games in their client without having to deal with large distributors that try to milk the game for what it's worth. A huge plus for for those that one to try new games and genres for practically cents.

So, yes, I support Steam for this But like I said, there is no difference between the clients service-wise (the both serve the same purpose).

Gamestop for their a-hole employees and Best Buy for giving "geeks" a bad name. Have you ever talked to one person from geek squad that knew more about tech toys than you? Nope. Bunch of idiots pretending to hook up TV's. I hate them. My friend (same guy that got me into Alpha) said he can get me a 20 dollar discount on the game if I pre-order through Origins, using a coupon. We'll see how that works.

I am with everyone on STEAM. I'd rather wait.

I hate that I will miss out on all of the preorder goodies. I hope that you can earn said goodies by simply being good, because if so, they're already mine. *shrugs*

EA confirms that BF3 wont be on STEAM.

Earlier last month Gamestop revealed that Battlefield 3 might not be coming to Steam as originally expected. This news was somewhat clouded by rumors that had the game releasing on Steam at some point after the initial launch of Battlefield 3, but had not been confirmed. Today, EA has revealed that Battlefield 3 will not be releasing on Steam. The feud between Electronic Arts and Valve seems to be growing bigger by the day, with titles from EA's catalog of games being removed from the Steam service intermittently. We've seen titles like Crysis 2 and Dragon Age II already become casulties of the dispute, and "a restrictive terms of service" seems to have played a large role in this fallout between the two companies. Battlefield 3 will be available on nearly all other digital distribution channels, so it doesn't appear that EA is trying to funnel players into its newly revamped Origin content delivery system. What exactly these crippling terms of service are at this point is unknown. There has been speculation that DLC could be the potential issue that is holding back an agreement between the two companies, but the only thing that is certain right now, is that Battlefield 3 will not be available on Steam this fall as confirmed by EA.
