Origin ID

Folks in the \BF3 Alpha know we were stuck with our Origin login, not the persona.

From what they are saying the same name you had in the BF3 Alpha is what you will be known as in BF3.

When I recently set up my Origin account, I could not get any of my old personas, because they were taken -- by ME - but I could not select one of them to create my account.

Ea's persona support is a pile...

I tried to get my bf2142 stuff over to my current email ages ago cos i lost the pass and email.
I spent over an hour on hold in webchat, she spent an hour faffinf around, ea had my dob wrong even though i put it in right.
Only to get told they wont do it cos they are looking to drop bf2142 off their lists in the future.... And ther personas where incompatale that i think was a lie.

But i have managed to corrupt and break 2 personas over the years trying to use them for other games.
Its like 1 game one persona...

I just want my forum name to be my permanent EA/Origin/Battlefield persona from now on.

And thats really dumb. Origin should realize that those names are YOU and you should be allowed to use them. Ill say it again...ORIGIN SUCKS

UPDATE: After talking to customer support I was able to get them to change my login details. My origin ID/EA Master ID was changed to SilentAssasinCLR. So im pretty stoked right now.

Thats why I changed my Origin ID/ EA Master ID to "SilentAssasinCLR" just in case.

Yes please. I would like to make sure I keep the same name I have used for YEARS.

I am also somewhat of a priss as to where my shit is installed. Guess what? If you don't use the default folder for Origin, they will install/create folders all over your hard drive for their mass amount of CRAP.

Where steam is using one main folder for most everything...

I went to this page:

And clicked on "Contact Us" on the left side of the page.

I filled in the necessary Information:

Product: Origin
Platform: PC
Category: Account/Registration
Subcategory: User ID/ Password help

Once I got connected to a representative (takes as long as 45 minues but as short as 2 minutes) I told them I needed to change my EA Master ID/ Origin ID. They will ask you to confirm the email address that you use for EA and your birthdate. Once thats taken care of they should go on to help you change it.

I tried changing it to my current forum name "TheSilentAssasin" but the said that was taken. I tried telling them thats MY name but it didnt seem to matter to them because once the name has been registered even if its yours its gone. So I told them to change it to "SilentAssasinCLR".

They then told me to log out of EA/Origin (recommend you download Origin and login with that to ensure it worked) and tell them if it worked. If it did then you should be good to go

I also asked them about whether your Origin ID would be your soldier name and it seems to differ from one representative to another. One told me "Yes your Origin ID will be your soldier name" and the other one (the one who helped me change my ID despite the fact the first representative told me that it wasnt possible to change it) told me "They currently do not have that information available to them.

Thats pretty much it. Also, make sure you go back to this page:

Ensure it says your EA ID is what you want it to be and that it is your default persona because im almost certain whatever your EA ID is that is what your Origin ID will be.
