EA updates Origin EULA after criticism

    http://bf3blog.com/2011/08/ea-update...ter-criticism/

Over the past week, there has been a huge backslash towards EA and their Origin End User Licensee Agreement, which gave EA the right to snoop your computer for all kinds of information and sell it to third parties. The news quickly spread across many gaming sites, including BF3blog.

Apparently, EA has listened to the complaints and has updated their EULA for Origin. It now includes the following addition:

?EA would never sell your personally identifiable information to anyone, nor would it ever use spyware or install spyware on users? machines. We and agents acting on our behalf do not share information that personally identifies you without your consent, except in rare instances where disclosure is required by law or to enforce EA?s legal rights.?

I haven't read the new EULA closely, but doesn't it *still* allow them to snoop around your machine? I'm going to create a separate account just for games I guess, and lock that mother down...

Yes, they can still do what they want. And if you want to get real technical on the language, they don't say they won't simply GIVE away your personally identifiable information.

They should just sell us the game through steam if they can't compete, really nothing much to say but that.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
