Even I can't hit BF2 jets with anything close to regularity. It's absolutely a matter of shear, blind luck and I can count the number of times it's happened on one hand. I'm hoping BF3 jets aren't quite as good--after about a year of release of BF2, jets utterly dominated the battlefield, and nobody could survive in any ground vehicle unless you had your own pilots to keep the other guy busy. Better AA would have helped.

That was one of my worries too. In Atacama desert, a good chopper pilot with flares can take over a game. It takes a good squad to bring one down. You have to hit him with tracers again right after he flares or you wont get a shot on the second tracer. Or get lucky with a freehand shot.

I was hopin that BF3 would have decent AA stuff. This is going to be a modern warfare type game. So modern weapons being left out for combating air assaults would be criminal.

You guys must not have read about 3d spotting in BF3. It isn't going to be like BC2. This time when you aim at someone and press Q, it shows a triangle above them until, 1. They find cover or 2. You aren't aiming at them anymore.

I liked BC2 spotting, I was blowing up walls and aiming halfway across the map at a triangle and getting the kill through trees.
