Dogfighting

I love the jets!!! I won my first dogfight today... In BF2 I never touched the planes but I quite enjoy them in BF3...much easier to maneuver and such

I could not get my joystick to work right in beta. Mainly because the default joystick key bind is totally whacked and rebinding isn't working.

You using a joystick or mouse and keyboard.

I have found that the mouse is useless in the air, and that WASD/Arrows works best.

I use WSAD/Arrows for now...I do have a Saitek Combat system but will wait for retail to use it

I am looking for a new joystick setup and may go with a Saitek x52 (Previously had a Saitek x45 but it deteriorated/became sticky). It will take me time to get used to rudders as it was so natural to use them on the throttle control of the x45, but watchout! Going to be some mad dogfights coming at you!

I have an old Force 3D that I would love to be using, but refuse to hook up till after Beta. I'll start playing with the joystick in release when we can set up proper bindings and whatnot.

I do need to build a stand for these monitors first though. I need them closer to me than they currently are. heh.

Would my xbox360 controller work well for flying jets?

I can really whiz around in the choppers on BC2. Not so much in BF3, but it wasn't as unnatural as hopping in the jets. That was a nightmare. But i've only been beta'ing for about a day now.

I really think the chopper is harder to fly in BF3 than it was in 2142, BFBC2, or even BF2.

yeah chopper is a bit squirrely.

Can use the mouse once you up the DPI
Most people like the arrows better.

Competition for the jets and choppers were fierce though.
Lots of people camping spawns.

Saw lots of jets get trashed before they could take off.
Don't know if it was Friendly fire or enemy action though.
Cool feauture, as spawn point shows up on your screen as jet, and can pop right into the cockpit.

Choppers much easier take down with the Anti air rockets or AA guns than jets. I enjoyed shooting down several.
