Some awesome attack heli gameplay

This is kind of scary. A good pilot will totally rape. Good pilots were almost unstoppable in BC2, this just looks insane. I want to learn to fly like that. Does anyone know anyplace to see some tuts or how-to's? Luis said he used to have his whole control setup tailored for flying.

Also, are people using joysticks in this game in addition to mice and keyboards?

I have a nice flightstick so I hope we can use them. It didn't work well for me in BF2 and I never tried in BC2.

I have an old sidewinder precision pro2. Drivers aren't available for W7, but I think it still works. I plan to try it out. The jet is almost impossible to fly with the mouse/keyboard.

For my chopper piloting in BF2, I used to use an old xbox s controller hooked up with a USB adapter. Barrel rolls in a blackhawk? No problem! Though, I doubt that'll be possible in BF3, and I haven't gotten that setup working in win7 yet. I do have a Saitek Cyborg Evo here, a joystick really only has 3 axes... having that 4th axis and really quick control just by twitching my thumbs a little was really nice.

Hehe, the chopper piloting in that vid reminds me of the sort of piloting I used to do on Dalian Plant! Those were some good times, weaving through the valley, among the buildings, and between the reactor towers

Maybe I'll have to get that controller working and try my hand at BF3 chopper flying.

Very impressive. I accounted myself a fair pilot in 2142 and BFBC2... But it looks like I am going to have to take some time practicing with BF3.

I have a saitek cyborg that I used for Wings of Prey (<--awesome flying-simulation game bty) but I couldn't make it work on BC2, so I decided to adjust the controls myself and put most functions on the mouse...

If you guys did not know, BF3 probably will not have joystick support of release. DICE said that it may not make it day 1, and that if it does not, it will be added in a patch. So don't get all upset if it does not work right away.

I don't know if anyone remembers me flying a J-10 on Wake Island or flying a heli anytime but I use a nice cheapy wireless joystick.

My Saitek x45 got all sticky/nasty from the rubber surfaces aging and I couldn't stand it. I may go for an x52 or a Logitech soon enough. Just have to clear it with the wifey :P

yeah, that's my main concern is durability...old Skud can really crank on those things when the heat's on!
