My installation is all messed up.

For some reason I'm not able to launch BF3, it says that I need to install it and when I try to it will not install.

I hope it's not because of the this.

EBF3 Warning about the early access VPN trick
    23 October 2011 - 11:08 PM Posted By Flowhawk 36
Some of you may already know about the VPN trick in which you trick the BF3 origin release date in thinking that your in Korea. Korea gets BF3 unlocked at Oct 25 at 12am UTC+9.

There has been some speculation and concern from experienced users, theorizing that once you have the Korean date set you can only play Single Player Mode. .

    Quote
Crash7800 (EA Communiy manager) stated in reddit "Your call, I guess, as to if it's worth the risk. Personally, I'd wait. Definitely won't work for multiplayer, and if it did all you'd be doing would be creating a needless headache for our network staff."

If you do manage to bypass or risk to play muliplayer, just know that you would only be able to play multiplayer on the Asian servers . Expect to have 300+ping and joining into clogged up servers. There are still question going around the web whether or not this is safe. The safest way in doing this, would be to see the safety confirmation of the people who have done this and have everything running like I should (everything is working) after the Korean version has been lunched.

If you have this already or jumped into do this without knowing what the risk are or what they could be. Don't worry about the ban hammer, It's has been publicly announced that EA won't ban for this, for there is no legit reason to do so. This VPN program can be an alternative proxy and privacy protection, so EA can't argue to apply the ban hammer. I am sorry, but I do not know how reverse this once you have done it. My one guess would be to delete BF3 and all its contents like its reg and download. If this has worked let us know.

EA has also stated that this is not illegal, it's just isn't very nice. ( meaning this is a go, but it's only a go on your own risk.)

FROM ENTERBF3, WE ADVISE YOU TO WAIT UNTIL BATTLEFIELD 3 COMES OUT IN YOUR TIMEZONE FOR THE BEST 100% QUALITY ASSURANCE. WE ARE NOT ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR ACTION(S) AND MISTAKES.

Don't think so. Especially since they moved the official launch day to the 24th.

That's unpleasant! Since Windows 7, it seems like half our problems are related to mismatched permissions either when you installed the game or now when you're trying to play it. I don't have specific advice, but were you signed in as an admin for both when you installed it and when you tried playing?

Another guess is that your firewall is silently blocking connection. Maybe this game requires that initial handshake to function.

If you haven't already, skip the shortcut and double-click the executable to see if the result is the same. Sometimes that will give a useful error message, but ... you're probably launching from Origin, right?

It also started when I tried to log in under Mini's account so maybe that screwed something up.

I also noticed that a window pops up and disappears whenever I try to re install

There was no repair option and even the uninstall option was grayed out, It also didn't show int the windows removal tool or in Ccleaner either. Anyways the re download worked.

Well it worked for about 20 minutes but I kept getting kicked form the server so I decided to re boot battlelog and origin. When I did this it said I needed an update and that update froze and not I' have the same issue I had last night.

Ahh now I get to do this crap....

I'M RECEIVING 'ORIGIN NOT INSTALLED' WHEN I TRY TO LAUNCH BATTLEFIELD 3, BUT IT IS INSTALLED. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
0 of 3 people found this article helpful.
You will need to completely remove Origin first, then install Origin again.

                        To Uninstall Origin
To manually uninstall Origin, you will need to edit your system registry and remove the folders in a two-part process. This will remove all traces of Originfrom your system.
NOTE: If you remove Origin, you will lose accessibility and playability to any downloaded games and manuals until you reinstall Origin.
Remember that editing your computer's registry or files incorrectly can severely damage your operating system. We recommend having a computer professional perform these steps. If you are confident, however, that you can edit your registry successfully, then please follow the instructions below carefully.
To remove all of the game folders:
                        OpenMy Computer.
Open your hard drive (by default, Originis installed on theC drive).
Open the Program Files folder (Program Files (X86 for 64-bit).
Right-click on theOriginfolder and choose Delete.
A "Confirm Folder Delete " window will appear; choose Yes.
Also in the Program Files folder, go to the InstallShield Installation Information.
*If you cannot find this folder you may have to go to Tools > Folder Settings and click the setting to “SHOW hidden folders ".
Right-click on the{EF7E931D-DC84-471B-8DB6-A83358095474} entry and choose Delete.
A “Confirm Folder Delete” window will appear; choose Yes.
When the folder is deleted, close the window.
Right-click on yourRecycle Bin and choose Empty Recycle Bin.
Now you can remove the registry keys for the game:
Click on Start and then click on Run...
In the text line type regedit, then click OK.
Click on File and then Export...
Choose a location and name for the file (this will be your backup registry file).
                        Click Save.
The next steps will all be performed in the left pane of the Registry Editor window:
Click on the + next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
Click on the + next to SOFTWARE.
For 64-bit systems, this should be Wow6432Node
Click on the + next to Electronic Arts.
Right-click onEA Corefolder and choose Delete.
Click on the + next to Microsoft.
Click on the + next to Windows.
Click on the + next to Current Version.
Click on the + next to Uninstall.
                        Right-click on{EF7E931D-DC84-471B-8DB6-A83358095474}and choose Delete.
A Confirm Key Delete window will appear, choose Yes.
If you also need to remove the cache associated with Origin, please do the following:
                        Open My Computer.
Double-click the C drive. (By default, this is where the cache folder is created. If you previously specified a different location for the cache folder, you will need to delete that custom folder.)
                        Double-click the ProgramData folder.
                        Double-click the Electronic Arts folder.
                        Right-click on Originand choose Delete.
A “Confirm Folder Delete” window will appear; choose Yes.
Originhas now been completely removed from your system.

                        Download and Install Origin

You can download your digital purchases and keep track of them using our Origin client.

I'm getting frustrated, theses registry entries don't exist. I have tried this twice now and when i got to reinstall Origin it says it's already installed. I'm not sure what to do next so I'll try to contact tech support.

                              Good golly and hello Origin!

At least you moved the needle off zero. Tech support? Start early, they are probably getting jammed up.

This is the Origin update download: http://www.origin.com/download

If it really is the latest version, then it should get you beyond the stalled update.
