Here is what I posted on the EA forums. No one is responding. But maybe you guys have some insight.
I spent a very frustrating few hours last night trying to play BF3. After about 10-15 minutes, the BF3 would screen would go black and stop responding. The sound was playing still, but sounded corrupted as well. I am using the latest Nvidia drivers released yesterday and BF3 is up to date (even ran the repair function in Origin).
Had to use Task Manager to shut it down. Windows 7 (64 bit) would tell me there were errors with the Nvidia drivers. I was also getting some weird DX11 errors this morning. I thought maybe the card was overheating. I maxed the GPU fan and turned down some of the graphics options. Temps dropped from near 70C to around 45C, but it didn’t work.
On a whim, I turned down the factory overclocking to standard 570 clock settings. Played 5 games in row with no more issues. Super annoying to buy a nice overclocked card and have to turn it down.
Is this normal? Or is it maybe something else? Maybe the just released drivers have a bug?
