So far HC vs Vanilla

I don't mind HC but would love to have the ability to see outside vehicles. It's especially helpful in team play situations to see who needs a ride before I drive off with an empty car...

I have to say... and this goes against everything i believe. but Vanilla in BF3 is soooooooooooo much better. HC is almost impossible. I like Vanilla alot better.

It's not impossible, but I know where you're coming from. Mainly I get pissed by the stupid snipers... nothing like dying from a single torso shot from an SVD... bah!

Think of it this way: if it's easy to die, it's easy to kill

Sometimes all you need is a little pray n spray - works great at a distance too

Really ? Depending on the map the Time to live in any server with 64 players is pretty low.

I'm not finding HC all that bad if I take my time in the game. A lot less running and gunning as infantry in HC, but still totally workable.

My thoughts exactly, with the exception of the maps that are really too small for 64 players anyway.

I like the mini-map, and I like the fact that tanks and people I wounded cannot hide and regen 100% of their health without help from any other player.


I also gotta admit I do not miss the 3D spotting.... IMO they have done a good job with this HC mode.

And tonight we started two servers at the same time, both with 15 players. 45 mins later the HC server had 42, and the vanilla server had 12.

Well crap. Sounds like Vanilla will be dead before i even get the game! I want to play this game the way i played BF2/2142.

I hope this 1st day difference is just down to the fact that more overall effort has been put into HC than Vanilla.

edit: I see that HC is full, probably a good time for some players to drop out and start Vanilla?

Would you buy a used car from this man? Of course I would. I will give it a try eventually. I just found out that I may be home next week. Game will be waiting for me to install, diet coke in, daughter back at college, wife working.

The one thing I always hated about the early BF Series was how many times you had to shoot someone before they would die. I really think they succeeded with a balanced game play in this one.

It's not the damage/bullet ratio i'm bothered about. Putting an extra few bullets into a guy neever seemed to have bothered me as much as it did for some of you. The things i always missed in HC were the things that are simply taken away. Minimap, spotting, never knowing who needs ammo, health, reviving. HC in BF always felt like it removed teamplay, and promoted nothing but camping and sniping.

Plus, it's a COD thing! COD = Evil!!!!!1111
