Nothing but a black screen

After attempting to join the CLR server, it puts me into the game and all I get is a black screen. No sound.

It simply hangs. Windows task manager is showing about 17% cpu usage and 150 MB physical memory, which isn't right of course.

Love spending 65 bucks for nothing....

Any ideas?

i5 2500k @ 4.4 GHz 8GB ram gtx 570 with latest drivers win 7 x64 sp1

Yeah this. Apparently Nvidia is having issues.

Well I've tried both. At first attempt I was running 275 something or other. It exhibited the same behavior. So I figured it was the drivers... I updated to the most recent nvidia set - same problem.

Ugh... patience I guess.

I haven't heard about this problem yet.

Details:
1. Just to confirm, you're running these drivers? 285.62
2. Cannot join CLR server. Can you join any other server? Can you play single player?
3. Did you install as an admin? Are you playing as an admin?

some speculation - The hanging at a blank screen can mean the software or memory has a bug, but more likely it means the game is just waiting for an on-line connection/signal. This problem might be due to your firewall blocking BF3, punkbuster, or the browser launch process.

I am having lots of freezes and crashes also. I'm gonna try switching from Firefox to Chrome for a bit and see if it makes a difference.

I've not had any crashes except when the server goes down.

Start your PC. Origin either auto starts or you start it. Close origin (exit via system tray), then restart it. That should help stabilize it. IDK why it works...
