If thats right then then (as i thought) pistols are way over powered.
They should really lose power at 10-15 m and do almost nothing beyond that.

Sounds more like a melee weapon. I don't sight in my pistols under 15 yards, and 100 yards isn't all that hard to pull off on a man size target irl.

It is not that pistols lose power. They lose accuracy over distance,of the shorter barrel.

Pistols typically do not have rifled barrels either irl which effects speed and accuracy of the bullet.

That table looks about right. I've played a ton of assault so far and the weapons feel identical. The SCAR stats are not surprising either as it really does kill peeps more effectively in game.

Pistol barrels are rifled. If they did not have rifled barrels they would be inaccurate at 15 feet.

Yep, most (all?) are rifled now.

True, true. Shottys are about the only unrifled weapon (except, of course, for their rifled slug barrels).

Yep almost everything is rifled.... including tank barrels and excluding shotguns as Skud mentioned. Any comparison to real life weapons is kinda hmm BS. Mostly it's the round that affects damage. Although there is variance in FPS (feet per second) depending on barrel length. The same .308 Win round fired from my Springfield M1A or my Remington 700 SPS is pretty much going to do the same amount of damage. The weapon platform itself really affects cyclical rate of fire, accuracy, wieght of the weapon etc...

The rounds themselves are self-stablizing, so tank cannon can get away with smoothbores.

Rifling is grooves that are cut into the barrel of a gun. The grooves grip the bullet and impart spin when the bullet is ejected from the gun. The spin makes the bullet stable during flight thus increasing accuracy. Muskets were smooth bore guns and were very inaccurate. Rifles were named after the rifling in the barrels of the guns. Armies were slow to switch from muskets to rifles for a number of reasons. One was you can load and fire a musket much faster than a rifle. With a rifle you have to force the bullet down through the rifling. A musket could be loaded and fired with an average speed of 5 shots a minute. Rifles were lucky to get 3 times a minute. Armies used muskets with volley fire to get results. Muskets were inaccurate over 50 yards and rifles of the day were accurate to 500 yards.

That thing aint right. I dont think the program can be that concise on distance. Maybe I'm wrong. But I've shot more people across the map in Tehran Highway with an AS Val than any other weapon. I was amazed at the accuracy and knockdown it has from a distance. And it's at the bottom of the totem pole. I still think it has more to do
with fire rate and accuracy more than anything else.
