Maybe Infinity Ward bought EA and is trying to force players to switch to COD?
My father spent 3 months there during Operation Deep Freeze in the 1960's. He saw temps below -50F. There were lots of Penguins when he was there. They had to thaw the tires, skids and even the prop blades before starting up and taking off.

This sounds incredibly stupid. I hate to sound like a nerd, but years ago I played RuneScape, and had fun with it, but the game eventually got eaten alive by cheaters. The Cheaters started the chaos, and the creators of the game finished the job. EA/DICE are doing the same thing. Honest people don't want to be punished because about 1% of the people care so much about where they rank on leaderboards while 5% cheat and stat pad while 94% play the game the right way and at most care about where they rank on the leaderboard of the match.
We are the 94%, it's time to occupy Battlefield.

• Increased the range and minimum damage of the .357 Round from the MP412 Rex.
• Increased the range of all .45cal and 9mm weapons.
• Slightly increased the range of the P90 and MP7 and PDW-R.
• Slightly increased the range of the 5.56mm PDW-R and decreased the minimum damage at long range.
• Slightly increased the minimum range of the Mk11, SVD, and M39 EMR 7.62mm rifles.
• Decreased the maximum damage and maximum range of the G3 and SCAR-H 7.62mm weapons.
If you looked at the weapon damage ratings previously, every single assault rifle starts at 25 dmg at point blank, and drops to 19 dmg at its maximum range. The G3 is the only weapon that is actually different, starting at 34 dmg and dropping to 28 dmg at maximum range. The G3 is the only assault rifle that is actually different from any of the other assault rifles - and it is balanced by higher recoil, slower rate of fire, and a 20 round magazine.
The variety gets SLIGHTLY better with the engineer's carbines. Every one of these starts at 25 and drops to a dmg value between 16-19 at maximum range. Again, the SCAR is the only assault rifle that has a different value, starting at 34 dmg and dropping to 22 dmg at maximum range. Again, it is balanced by recoil, rate of fire, and magazine capacity.
They are doing what they have done in other battlefield games - they start with an actually diverse weapon set, and because of bitching about balance (when in actuality there are tradeoffs for each), they make every gun in a given class act the same... The only physical difference now will be rate of fire and recoil. Otherwise, you pick the model and 'sound' of the gun you like.
Oh, and they didn't do anything with the recoil... I haven't jumped in game to try them yet by I hope they are at least still reasonably more powerful, or they have made the uniquely different guns for each class a useless aesthetic.
ALSO: How the heck do you 'increase the minimum range' of the sniper rifles they listed. Do the bullets not do anything until a few meters out from the barrel?Last edited by NateTheBrewer; 22 Nov 2011, 10:31 PM. Reason: Adding note about sniper rifles at the bottom
