Server patch Dec. 6

I've never died from a claymore... Guess Phan is one of the few who actually uses them. I've set them out, but never got a kill from them.

I think I'm one of the rare few that use them, and I doubt they will become a factor even after the patch. Too many people like the mortar and C4 over claymores.

True. If the recon class had them they would be more abundant...but for support and an advancing squad they really don't do much...though now that they're infinite, I suppose, leaving one by capped points might get a kill on occasion...not enough to fret over, though.

Bad thing is you cant shoot em and detonate em. Have to nade em or use a frag round for the shotgun. Same with mines.

But the mines are gonna disappear so all you got left is claymores if you wanna kill foot soldiers. I liked leaving mines around for the tank ho's. But with them having thermal, they were getting ineffective. Jeeps were another story.

You can shoot them with 2 bullets.

well I will be putting down more claymores.... The real problem is they disappeared about 10 seconds after dying. So if you just planted one and died you couldn't get a kill from the person running past it.

The real question is do they disappear after dropping more of them down?

Claymores had a 2 unit limit. Lay a third and the first disappears. I don't think they changed that, but now their lifetime is infinite. Except, on a crowded server they will eventually get shot by friendlies who wonder what the pretty icon above the claymore means.

My patch update failed! Something to do with UAC. Never had that before.

edit: LOL now it's showing as updated ok. WTH.

Eww! Turn off the UAC - Go into Control Panel->User Accounts->User Account Control Settings (on the left side) and drop that slider down to the bottom. One of the worst features in Vista/7 next to the new Windows Search

Looks like black screen crash between rounds has become a much bigger problem for me. This time however i get the "loading" and the flashing cube, but no map splash screen. Stays this way until i close the game.

Before patch - 2 black screens.
Since patch - 3 black screens.

Doesn't bother me what so ever.

That's until a buggy game throws up an issue with it, and then the game apparently decides there's no longer an issue.

Just had my forth black screen of the day. Not a full black screen though, still got the loading symbol flashing away, but the games doing nothing.

Looks like i won't be playing until the next patch.

finally decided to do a complete win7 reinstall. Hopefully get BF3 running again this evening a see what happens.

Oooof! Did you get those before or is this new? (still a bit before I get home and try the patch-and I'm not feeling super-confident)

The mines should be persistent, as should claymores.

I'd even say C4 should be - though only blows if someone picks up your kit and uses the trigger, or shot.


They brag so much about being persistent, yet there are constantly holes like this one.
