Hardcore Woes

Well, after a couple of days I "almost" hung it up lol. So far, a good day for me is 4 kills and 15 deaths. I am of course still rusty, but man. 64 players, and for some reason I can't find anyone to kill with my rifle, And when I think I've found someone, it's a team kill lol. I don't remember BF2 being this way. It is so hard for me to tell friend from foe. Well, I tried a non ranked server, and it was much better for me. It felt like the BF I remember. In fact if it wasn't for the fancy graphics I'd have thought I was playing BF2.

Is my favorite game server going to have a normal server as well as ranked? Also, what are all the differences besides being able to spot, and having cross hairs. BTW, I can't stand how you have to unlock Air to air missles, and there are no bombs for jets. Seems like its a huge disadvantage for new players. Especially with how difficult those things are to fly. It also seams like snipers are really inaccurate. With the lens glare, I'm found and dead before I can even dial someone in. Well thats my Xmas rant With that....

I hear your woes MD, a zillion unlocks and getting whacked. WHy would you fly a jet with no flares or missiles or a tank with no smoke etc. I think they have made it too complicated for my taste.

It takes a while. It plays so differently than BF2. Practice.

Yes, I agree, newer players are screwed hehe. To unlock stuff you need to get kills. I recommend using the guns on targets while in jets. Won't be long before you get countermeasures etc

I too was a white belt knewbie, and now i'm pushing hard for a .50 K/D.. lol Really, its all about having fun.
I've gone 3/15 a round, but capped, and did my job as a tank healer/gunner, or similar, and felt good about it...

Then again, i'm not about my scores anyway, but that's me.
I'm looking at scores for hackers, or screwballs in chat as well.
There are some guns that don't like me, some that do, experiment.

YOu are probably talking about normal vs. hardcore. Normal is more like you are used to from BF2. I think if you give HC a little time you will get used to it.

I agree with the above postings. Hardcore did take a while for me to get used to. As your coming in as a newbie basicly other people will own you. There has been alot of new people also out there and I am sure you will quickly get better.

If you want to unlock things for a tank ect. Start in the morning and cap flags. While in the tank you will get points for it(though not for the kit you are using). Sniping I still haven't gotten around to learning(only killed 3 people with the sniper rifle) and its my last kit with about 3k to go before I have all the unlocks.

You can also cap a flag with some of the hover jets or just land and roll it to the flag when your the only one on the server. Like bf2 if your good in a jet you are great.. all others will die around you. I am poor in my estimation of people like devildog/phantom/everyone else.

Good thing is most of the maps are the same, you just have more stairs and well a building can be blow out from around you.

The bigger "problem" (feature, attraction, strength) is that we have a very, very high level of play at Cain's because we attract and retain very experienced players.

Our folks know the maps, know the weapons and know the objectives. I can hop on almost any other server and be an upper third player consistently.

This is why so many new players connect to play here and immediately assume everyone is cheating because they are mid-level players who are accustomed to having a better K/D ratio.

I think you owned me several times there phantom. Of course thats me in a jet. If I am flying and you die from me shooting you.. well you need more practice.

For me personally, I'd probably be better off playing on other servers, at least KD wise. I am trying to get mine above .6...

Other servers, I frequent 2:1 or better K;D's. On CAIN's, my average is 1.4-1.6 solid. I cannot get it to go higher.
