BF3 isn't that bad. It's the people that play it that are bad.

I had more fun with BC2. This toned down destruction is what really spoiled my fun. I feel stupid every time I shoot a concrete wall with my tank and nothing happens.

In some ways, BF3 is a huge letdown, but I still enjoy it.

I've been feeling this way since I started playing BF3. I LOVED BC2. BF3 just never felt as 'right' to me as BC2. Of course I never played BF2, so take that for what it's worth.

Yes, I hear it if I listen closely. However, the game is filled with noises. When I adjust my audio so explosions do not shake the walls, then a plea for ammo might as well be a mouse squeaking in the corner.

I really miss commanding. It added another dimension to the game. I know the recon class is basically a mini commander if played that way, but it's not quite the same. Being able to talk to each squad, and give orders to them ect. I actually never played BC2 besides the beta, It just felt like a dumbed down BF2 to me. BF2 seemed a lot more balanced, I don't remember having so many one sided games. Overall though, with the exception of the cheaters I think BF3 is still a great game. Some things are much better than in BF2. I actually love what they did with the artillery strikes, and basically gave you mortars. I love the mortars and I don't think people use them enough. You can really do some damage with those things. In the end though, for me at least it's the hackers that will kill this game. They are not doing enough to stop it before it happens. Not by a long shot.

I remember plenty of one side games and players complaining about uncap rape. It was so bad that we were banning players for raping uncaps.

I remember that too. BF2 had plenty of lopsided games. In addition, its air combat dominated far too easily - between the bombing runs, and reliance upon stationary AAs, whose lock was unreliable, to take out helo's and jets.

BF3 strikes a much better balance where ground troops can counter air attacks (Stinger, IGLA, SOFLAM + Javelin/other guided rockets). BF3 also has balanced the classes MUCH better. Yes, there are still sniper whores who will never change. However now they cannot hole up with clay mores, their scope flash makes them easier to find, as does IR scopes and thermal optics. It is now rare to find a team full of snipers, and when there is...their team is more prone to LOSE.

Yes, I miss commanders and squad voice capability, but still think BF3 has tons to offer. The cheats are a problem on every release of every game. It will never die - too many people simply live for the next challenge to hack and f-up games. Problem is enough of them have the talent to really be good at it.

Sop true on all of it. A good bomber pilot teamed up with a good Attack Coper Pilot just dominated the maps. And who could forget The Black Hawk domination on Mashtur City. Two Engineers and you could not shoot it down. I was so glad when Dice made changes and Engineers could not heal it from the air.

I miss Mashtur City... I don't think it's not doable on the game engine with how large some of the other re-done maps are. At first I was thinking not being able to blow up bridges would be an issue but no less than on Wake...
