That has been on American tanks for a while now. It's basically a magnetic sensor that sees objects coming to it and shoots the living hell out of them with a blowback away from the tank. What's amazing is the speed of the thing.

So what happens if you have friendly troops, civilians or other convoy vehicles right next to the thing when it gets shot at? I mean I get that they would probably end up being casualties with or without this, but it would seem like a shaped charge hitting the tank would have more force inwards then to surround ancillary targets...

I have no idea if any of that would be true, just wondering...

When I was deployed, we had netting with little circles filled with C4 at the thread intersects. Didn't like being in vehicles with that stuff.....
