    my introduction to Commander

So I hit Level 10 and wanted to try it out. First off it is very different then bf2. I am not sure better or worse yet for the playing experience. The interface takes a while to get used to. There is enough to do if you are micromanaging your squads to keep you really busy. Choosing an attack point when there are several people on it become hard when fully zoomed out. Playing commander I got 9k+ points.

You can not spot individuals yourself now. The zoom in isn't even real time(it tells you this). Most people aren't aware as squad leaders how to ask for orders(though someone on a squad.. a reg was working well with me).

Squad leaders should accept the orders and request things(supply, uav ect.) When they do request it is hard to notice other then a small blinking white star on their squad name.

The commander can click on the squad and talk to everyone and hear everyone in the squad. I couldn't figure out how to talk to them. I believe I have to remap the commander voice button.

As squads do their objectives for the commander they will have extra perks he can give. The first is a bonus to scores, supply drop, vehicle drop, and quicker spawn for the squad. They are point based and a bar fills up(like a squad perk bar) then gets used up as you give out perks or withhold them for the asses that don't do anything to help the team.

You have the tomahawk missile and I was able to take out 4 tanks with it and had about 10 kills during my time. This shows that you can't just sit in one space. Keeping control of some of the points makes it very important for the teams.
There is a UAV and EMP UAV. EMP will block or distort spotting. You will get bonus points for the EMP or UAV or supply getting used. The UAV comes back very quickly. I am unsure if the scans for infantry or vehicles shows up on every ones map or just the commanders.

You can also identify someone on the other team that is on a kill streak. I have no idea how this looked to the people on the ground though.

Pretty cool I was wondering what Commander actually entailed.

I loved the live zoom feature it was so cool to tell someone to turn around and shoot someone that was sneaking up on them.

The scans are really slow as well.

I hit 10 last night, I'll give it a whirl eventually.

I liked it when I was playing BF2142(the most overlooked BF game).

So, how does the squad actually communicate with the commander? Nobody knew how to do that last night. There aren't separate voice channels, at least not listed in the control settings.

I had a commander talking back and forth with my squad last night. You click on the squad and then hit the voice chat button.. I just didn't look it up.
This does allow full voice with the whole squad. We were all surprised about it happening instead of in the BF2/2142 where the commanders channel went to all squad leaders and they relayed the info.

Can the squad leader initiate Voip to the commander?

Squads need to be able to get the commander's attention. They should tell us how to do this.

They request new orders or drops and it blinks on the commander screen. I wish it was a little bigger indication. Though it does say verbally that someone wants a UAV... just not who.

Yeah, but how do they request them? Is there something on the commo rose when a Commander is in? I have no clue.
