I'm close to unlocking everything on tanks. They still aren't where they should be but we'll see what future patches do. What I would like to know is what guys who like to gun for tankers want on your loadouts.
I just switched from prox scan to SOFLAM and optic zoom. I need someone to let me know how prox scan works for you if you've had it as a gunner. I think I'm likely to ditch it from the mix because much of the time I'll be with a gunner who isn't on VOIP and it won't help us much without that coordination. I didn't notice that I could see anything as the driver.
You guys like belt feeder? Thermal optics? .50 cal? What works best for you? Anyone have that phosphorous fire-gas yet?
I just unlocked the staff shell and I'm going to try that a bit tonight to see if it works against infantry and how much damage it does to armor. I'm hoping to find a combination that helps me deal with infantry better since HE and canister are about as useless as AP. Unless staff is really, really good I would like to go back to running the guided shell, so SOFLAM will be helpful, but I don't like that it eats up a major gunner slot-the third gunner position of BF3 was a better option with lasing targets. And unless they improve splash damage my hands may be tied anyway--may need coax guns to handle infantry.
At least gunships aren't as dangerous as I feared. They're crazy inaccurate.
