[Dead...Again]

Man, that thing is a beast. I was playing on a server last night (unfortunately Cains was dead when I got on), and this guy on the other team was totally destroying me with it. He must have been using slugs, because he was killing me at fairly long range with the thing. It seems a bit over powered to me...

Has anybody tried it out?

Too powerful if you ask me. To the point that it's on of the few things in this game that is one-shot-kill to the body. Some people need the advantage

Get some skill and use the sniper

its brutal when used standing still. Slugs + extra damage = win. The long fire rate balances it though. its virtually useless when on the move.

Sadly, the last patch brought into play that spray and pray being a useful tactic. Hip firing > sighted firing now, so the gun is virtually useless if your on the move, forcing you to stand still to use it.

Yup... that gun is awesome. I'm almost platinum with the 870. I wish you could get marksman points with the shotguns because I have taken out snipers from across the map with it.

Unfortunately, shotguns are a bit touchy with how bad the hitreg is with them. I can't tell you how many times I've shot someone in the face or directly in the chest from less than 15 feet away and the hit doesn't register. If you miss the first time, you are usually dead by the time your next shot is ready...

I've only had the game 2 days and played less than 6 hours, and I've already run into no less than 2 different guys I slashed with my knife multiple times (one of them at least 8 times, an unsuspecting sniper) to no avail. It was incredibly lame both times.

It's not just you. Since the new patch I have failed with the knife on so many occasions. Backstabbing with the knife is almost impossible now. It is a known issue on the BC2 forums and they should fix it with the next patch.

Yesterday I tried to knife a sniper 3 times in the back when he turned round and knived me instead.... this is crazy...
