I can't seem to get the UAV off the ground. What's the trick to flying that dang thing?

I had a great time last night squadding with Rand, Apache, and the pigworthy.

I do love the UAV myself... especially with the optics perk. The only thing that drives me crazy with it is the 'R' for up is right next to the 'E' for exit on the keyboard. There have been soooooo many times I've hit the wrong button and destroyed my beloved UAV instead of going 'up'.

I can get the UAV off the ground but I can't aim it or move it. I need to play around with the keys for flight. It's not as easy to fly helos/UAV as it was in BF2--something seems off with the mouse movement if mapped.

Once I get it in the air, I just use WASD and the mouse to move it, although, the mouse control seems backwards to me.

Did you say that you had Grey out? I read a thread on the EVGA forums that had something to do with this. I'll look to see if I can find it.

The thing to be careful with the UAV is the dreaded e key. I keep hitting it which boots you off line and you loose control of it.

I had a great time with D&G and Dougbob last night. There was some great back and forth action.

I had a lot of fun also. I really need to upgrade my GPU though. Currently using a Quadro FX570.

I also HATE the "E" key on the UAV. Does somebody have to join you to shoot the gun on that thing? and how do you zoom in with it. Or are those options you earn from using it?

Fun to be playing with the old BF2 crew again, and the new guys/gals.

So many UAV questions!
UAVs are the best way to drop hellfire on Rand after he steals your tank. Your UAV will last longest if you only use it for spotting. Once the UAV is noticed, it's not difficult to drop.

ZOOM Vision & coax machine gun are a couple of the alt-mode vehicle achievements. Doesn't take very long to earn them. UAV uses left mouse button for standard hellfire, right for alt-mode. I always select the zoom capability for vehicles, but it's also fun to watch the UAV chasing somebody around with it's machine gun.

UAV has no "land for repairs" mode. After the flight begins, when you press "e", UAV will blow up. Since "w" goes forward and "r" goes up, you'll find yourself pressing "e" too often.
