First i could not get into anygame, i did the dxver=9 thing worked
for like 2mins then the game locks up my pc...

I click enter battle, i see about 3 seconds of 3d, then my whole pc does off....

win 7 32bit,
intel duo 2 E something or other,
ATI HD4850

and before the question arrives,
yes all my drivers are up to date.

Its not over heating,
i can hardly get into the game to even warm my tooties

it sounds like a PSU issue if his whole PC shuts down but hes only running ATI HD4850

its not a psu issue, The pc locks up, not shuts down

lol i hate to say it but everyone jumps to hardware faults nowadays.

Anyway i swapped it out for a 8800 just now, i love my 4850 too much to give it up.

I'm pretty sure its either some driver incompatibility or the game has issues with my 4850.

Nothing else has issues with it, and its not like it don't get used either,
only game that i have that knocked my pc out.

i'd looked at so many setting files my keyboard looked like a rubix cube lmao

I take it you also tried rolling back your video drivers to see if the newest ones where actually causing problems? This can sometimes happen when new drivers are pushed out too fast.

Try dxver=10 , or back to dxver=auto.

Sometimes system sounds setting cause problems.
I`v set up sound on lower settings like cd quality and in game not HiFi but headset only .
