We really need some admins that actually play BC2 a lot, its almost 5pm EST. on a saturday and there are 3 guys in there calling everyone that kills then a hacker or botter and im getting tired of hearing it. They refuse to leave volentarily stateing "why should the legit players leave" they have accused me, tex, dr.camp, and others of hacking and are doing nothing but ruining the game.

I would be willing to admin, but I am not sure that I would be able to tell the difference between a really good player and a hacker. I have seen guys in other games that people thought were hackers, but were just good players. I would really hate to kick/ban a player who is just really good.

Thanks Caddys83 and PumpkinJack...but I'm probably too fiery to have that kind of authority (also not techy savvy)...then I wouldn't be able to channel my anger through my gun barrel...those rare occassions when I inflict much pain on the enemy.

The American law system is actually more of the opposite of this. It tends to go after anyone without full information at hand. Just take a look at all the stories about extracted confessions and DNA testing leading to a ton of innocents being released in the past decade.

There is a gray area at times, but there are those clearcut instaces when someone needs to do something. Like when someone is 45-1 in 5 minutes, or when a guy is sabotaging his team.

Indeed, Algorithm is the most evident but today, after a week of not playing on the server, I joined only to find today another hacker was at it again. People were complaining and many leaving, which is sad, as the server really was great, and regulars made it fun. Perhaps install a voting system to allow it to self regulate if no admins will be available.

No, voting systems dont work. Hackers will play with it to keep it occupied while they play.They even have scripts that run for the voting system.Just insert a name and it keeps running in a loop. I played on non PB servers sometimes while I was in Iraq in Cod4 because they were the only ones with under 700 ping to even try. I seen all their tricks. Plus some idiots couldnt tell a hacker from Pollyanna. Some hackers get good at disguising the wall hacks, and without being able to spec them or kill cam. It's hard to catch em.But it can be done.Nobody is perfect and they usually make a mistake. Aimbotters not so much. They are too stupid, and really dont care.So it's not hard to deal with them.

I've seen my share of hackers and their most telling trait is being able to know where everyone is at all times and they dont die much. Some will even die a few time for good measure just so it dont look so bad. But you can sniff em out if you know what to look for.

We once had a guy here at the Lair that everyone thought was real good. But I was suspicious of that guy from the get go. There was a bolt hack that was easy to spot if you knew what to look for. I seen it in Asian servers. Had a particular move when the weapon was fired that always repeated every time.Cain had left the kill cam on too for a while in HC and it was just a handfull of players on. First time I watched him use a bolt i saw the exact same identical move.Was no mistake about it. I think he eventually got punk busted. Not here anymore.

You can keep em out if you know what to look for.Thats all I'm gonna say about that.

I doubt cobalt would tell and its probibly the right thing not to say. No need to pick on people spacifically.


Also the main thing i like admins for is aimbotters and asshats, the wall-hackers and such dont bother me terribly, as long as they're not like 50-1 or whatever but mainly the asshats the people being ***holes just because they know or think there is no admins on. Like the guy last night at about 1:30am EST. he was calling me a hacker and such and i wasnt doing anything rediculous, just having a good round (i think i was 46/5) but the guy was whining and complaining the entire time and just wouldn't give it up. I told him if he thought i was hacking then he could just leave, but he refused and just spammed and complained the entire round to the point where I left because he was that terribly agitating.

I can understand your discomfort. And admin's here have always leaned heavily on the light side than the heavy handed side, simply because there ARE people that good. Good computers, great connect ping, Grease lightning reflexes. I hatem..
Apache's son is like that, along with several more I could name.

Remember, if there is no admin online when someone is being an asshat, please report it in the Report a Jerk section. They can pull chat logs of the player, verify, and deal with it appropriately.
