some general BC2 questions.

i have a few questions i wasn't able to find on the official site,, stupid really, but they are killing me..
whats the difference between a hardcore servers vs non? i have been on both, and don't really notice a difference.

Do your pings on the server browser greatly differ to that in game? i show awesome pings 20-30's to certain servers, but when i join them, i have pings of 175-200. turned settings down, doesn't seem to matter, doesn't seem to lag while playing, but i will randomly get kicked for losing key packets.

HC means that it'll take less hits to kill somebody. Instead of unloading a full clip into the enemy you can kill them with just a few well placed bullets.

The ping on the scoreboard is quite inaccurate. Do not rely on it.

Why are you playing on other servers?

Think key packets is possibly a PB issue (somebody else will have to answer this one) but i could swear i remember losing key packets been one of the typical reasons to get booted by PB.

1) Pings in-game are relative but all things considered the lower your ping the better your experience. The ping in the server browser is ralative to the server's proximity to one of the EA Master servers, not you.

2) You will get dropped, not kicked, if your connection drops too many packets.

3) Hardcore tried to be more realistic. No crosshairs, no hud showing enemy players, and a few bullet hits and you die.

another quick question,, when looking at the squads page during respawn, what is/are the signifigance of the numbers in the white squares? i se a players level, and rank, then right next to it, not on all names only some are 3 in a white box, 2 in a white box or 1 in a white box,,, then their name,,, what are these numbers? how many times they have leveled and "rolled over"?
