How do you guys set up for flight? I can't fly in these BC2 games, nothing I try seems to be right for keyboard controls.

I use the standard controls but I bet a joystick would be nice.

I use mouse and keyboard.

This is what i use, it might help perhaps.
Because i find the mouse uncontrolable try this

W,A,S,D accel, Left, decel, Right
Space Main Gun

Up, Down, left, right Arrows = Pitch up, Down, left pitch, right pitch

It feels exactly the same as BF2 to me, except that the helo's aren't as agile.

I can get from place to place in BF2. I can't even get 15 feet off the pad in BC2/Vietnam because the mouse pitch and yaw sucks. Half the time I even try to take off, I'm 90 degrees vertical within 3 seconds. Maybe I need to try keyboard arrows for that.

You must be doing something wrong then lol. I zoom off the pad at all kinds of angles.
