Does malwarebytes do any realtime scanning on a network level? Guess the only way to see if this has really worked is to leave it disabled for the next few days and see how it goes.

You could run malwarebytes/BC2 and run a sniffer on the outside of your router. Check out ethereal. It does have a steep learning curve but, if you want to know whats going on on the wire a network sniffer is the only sure way to see whats happening
