Possible fix for connection isssue

ok for the last few weeks i have unable to join the server or any for that matter.. and if i did get in it was only for about 2mins if that anyway i messed with my computer today and did 3-4 main things i cant be bothered trying to find out which one it was but one of them worked or all im not sure ok
1. i updated windows fully and most my programs you know skype,java so forth
2. downloaded malwarebytes and scanned the computer and also scanned with my antivirus found nothing but in the malwarebytes i put bfbc2 and all its components on the ignore list .. ended up turning off protection in malware (anti virus still running as normal) also switched off website blocking
3. in windows 7 in the control panel (this the one i think did it) in programs go to uninstall a program now enter into that.. now look for punkbuster in there if its there do not remove it! simply double click on it it should oven up a small punkbuster screen and all the checks in this small box should be green if all green click finish.. Now punkbuster will disappear from your uninstall or change programs list !! search it in the top serch just to check.. if its gone you have done this correctly
4 the only other this i did was install Apache http version 2.2.17 (dunno if this had anything to do with it at all but i thought i would mention it... if you have this issue try all these and let me know if it works or not

never had any issues to join the games.. but what issue i have is my ping is always 200+. and i have 6mbit, and all my ports for bfbc2 is open.. but still cant get under 200. a problem i will get to fix.. checked all EA/DICE forums.. and nothing.

Are you forwarding the ports to the right computer brian?

Im using over 9 Ip's on my network so sometimes I get confused with what ports go where lol.

i only have my computer and my laptop, my laptop is on wireless.. computer is hooked onto the ethernet port.

BC2 does NOT use ping. It shows latency. You are in Cali, server is not anywhere near that Area. I live 4 hours away from the server and my latency is close to 120. You are actually doing pretty good for Cali.

yes i did but i dont think the connection issue has much to do with packets? ive only ever been kicked for packets once and i think that was on an aussie server.. but anyway it all showed up normal my problem is fixed now anyway

BC2 does NOT use ping. It shows latency. You are in Cali, server is not anywhere near that Area. I live 4 hours away from the server and my latency is close to 120. You are actually doing pretty good for Cali.

You need to run the game in admin mode (Right click .exe and run as admin) for it to be able to show pings.

Phan I thought you were in Houston. This server is in DC. I did pingplotter and the only hop that is bad is in DC. All the rest are ok. I think there are 3 or 2 hops in the DC area that I have to go through to get to the server and one up there is always bad.

I run over 200 to the DC server. One hop goes all the way to Atlanta from Dallas then up to DC. Go figure. I'll be glad when Cain gets us back to Dallas. Specially with all the issues we are having at this server with the packet losses. I've never been kicked from the Dallas server for packet losses and I played a ton hour wise on that one. From Thailand no less.

my browser does display 999 sometimes but once i enter when i look at the scores it shows my normal latency

When did the server change? I remember it was in Dallas not too long ago. How can you change from Dallas? It's the best area to host a server. Right in the middle of the country.

Chicago is the national hub i would bet its better.To much traffic coming from the white House.

The service provider had complications they were unable to resolve.
