Wow, that got heated fast.
How about the viewpoint from someone completely objective, who hasn't played the game in months?
The way this plugin works is just godawful bad. Period. Who in their right mind writes a class limiting script that resets everyone who just happens to die?
It should be like DOD, where you may see class limits, but the first ones who get in keep the class throughout the round, and they aren't forced into giving it up if they just so happen to die.
So the way I see it based on how it's been laid out in this thread, Cain was absolutely right to pull it immediately. Even if he wasn't--it's his server folks. Don't forget, he's the boss.

Thx Rand, I really do appreciate any and all feedback, I am always interested in what folks think and believe and want. All that having been said everyone should remember the posters in this Forum constitute a very tiny fraction of the players in our server.
I assumed this plugin worked like the one I used in DoD where once the set number of players picked the class, that option was simply greyed out. Apparently this plugin does not work that way at all. I'll check tonight or this weekend and see exactly how it works.

I had a chance to play last night and ill throw in my 'review'.
Things I noticed in no particular order:- Wasn't sniped near as much on Harvest day as I had in the past, but still got taken out about 5 times though.
- Teams were going for the flags
- No motion mines on flags from GOOD snipers.
- Some complaints about addon, had more complaints about lag than anything else though.
- I was hoping that it would limit you from selecting the class, not let you select it then kill you for it
Overall it was a nice change, and it seemed to get people more focused towards objectives. I have some concerns about the script though. One BIG one is the people that were playing as sniper, died, then someone else selected the class and spawned. The person who died will now be punished by the script. If i played sniper much i know that would tick me off.Delivering bacon goodness one round at a time.

To say that snipers in this game or in battle do not have a legitimate and important role is silly, they definitely do.
Problem is trying to find a sniper that spawns with the squad and does that...they are few and far between. There are some in the Lair - Tiger_Shalone (sp?) was in my squad last night, doing just that. He spawned with an assault rifle, or shotgun, and made great use of the motion mines in Atacama Desert, while we were hiding in enemy base C trying to take the flag. There are a handful on the Lair that I enjoy in the squad.
A well positioned sniper or two for flag defense is great, while the team is advancing on the next flag(s). If I find a sniper in my squad tree humping / bush wacking, I generally leave the squad unless it is a key spawning spot. If our team is being slaughtered, have no flags, and teammates are still tree humping as snipers, then I break out the smoke grenades and tracer darts .

@Cain:
sorry if i sounded mean. i really do thank you for trying. but i get a bit over board at times when were debating on changes.
if you dont mind, could i take a look at the script?
i could probably change the autokilling or perhaps add in a script.
big thanks from the korean guy! LOL
Ontopic:
DoD let us (server owners) have full advantage of the game/server, so its like a playground. but EA has limited that access for the server owners. Most of the server commands are hardcoded into the game/server that the server owners are not in full power of changing it to their needs/community needs. thats the way EA wants these "RANKED" servers to be. but theres always 3rd party members who dislike what EA does to game servers and make scripts

It may be a limitation in the way scripts work in BC2.

Locating a sniper by dying is possible but unpleasant. Pointing at one for the team to attack is ineffective (I believe designated targets are displayed on the map that few players ever view).
Squads have sometimes coordinated using team speak to successfully eliminate obvious snipers. But, there are too many "left window, top floor, brick buildings". And when a long-range sniper respawns, he just goes somewhere else that is difficult to designate.
I think the best defense against a sniper is a counter-sniper (a predator's predator), but it seems that most long-range snipers enjoy less dangerous prey.
