Agreed. 2142 was a great game for its time. Even though it cant compare to other games now its still always will be a great game in my book. Lots o good times with fellow CLRs.

Its all about the friends and frustration of a good game.

I have to agree with The Furry One. We had more bitching and complaining about BF2142 than any other game, including Counter-Strike.

2142 never caught on but the titan mode was a loot of fun. You had some nice large tactical action controlling the silos until the shield went down then the action shifted to the close combat as you attacked the titan. The problem was that there were bugs in the game that were never fixed, the biggest one being the lag whenever the titan moved. I can't agree that it sucked.

Thats why we disabled the ability to move the titan if I recall correctly. I just think that the important thing here is that we need to remember where we came from. Which games got us involved in the Lair. For me it was 2142 which is why the game is so special to me. It introduced me to my fellow CLRs which is why I believe that it is important, especially with BF3 coming up to make sure we remember where we started. Whether it was BF1942, BF2, or BF2142. Just my opinion.

Most BF2 players were very vocal about their dislike of 2142.

2142 wasn't a great game, but it was still fun. It was a hell of a lot better than BC2 that for sure.

2142 wasn't as good as BF2, but it was still great IMO. If it weren't for 2142, I'd may have never found the Lair...
