Same. And some of us chatty Kathys would always choose to be in the lobby: not to cheat, but to yack with other clrs who play the game to chat with other clrs, and the more the merrier. For me, without the teamspeak and clrs on it, it might as well be any other server with any random goons on it.

It is kinda better to hear everyone cry when you kill em. Or they hear you. Although I see the tactical advantages of not giving your position away or letting the other team know where you are. I think the fun aspect of it outweighs the tactical.
There are some funny lines you miss out on when you cant hear everyone. Apache gets kinda worked up at times and we cant hear him.

Thing is you can play in channel alpha or beta if you want to get tactical. If you play for fun and killing and chatting, the lobby would be a nice/perfect option.
Would we be worried about overly adult talk.. or censoring for kids? I can see not many are playing now but when BF3 comes out this could change things.

Cain has always had a no cursing rule for the servers. In games with squad talk it is harder to enforce. But, if kids are in Teamspeak, we would hope you would please refrain from cursing. Of course admins can mute anyone who goes over the top.
Cain used to have a plugin for DOD that you could permanently mute anyone cursing. It also disabled their chat.

Good, I didn't know if you had an admin setting for the mute.
Well, I have to say I've had a few choice descriptions for snipers, campers and non participants. But the game itself has some doozies. It's an R rated game.

TS is great. I have mixed feelings about the new plug-in, though. I sux when everyone else on TS is on the other team, so you have no one to talk to ...
Good point, here are my thoughts.
When we have a private TS server we tend to not interact with the other players in the server - at all. Our server feels very sterile and unfriendly when you are playing there without TS, I do it often. There is almost no text with, from or among CLRs.
I have resisted having a private TS server for YEARS because I was afraid our group would be off in their own world and ignore interacting with and making new friends and CLRs out of the people cycling through our server. The numbers on this game and this server will reflect that it has BY FAR the lowest rate of new people coming to our Forums and joining our Community even though we have had a staggering number of people cycle through this server.
Several CLRs have told me privately that they will not join the TS server when everyone is on the same channel talking over each other and chatting constantly. I feel the same way. It is just chaos and for me annoying. That is why until recently you almost never see me in TS. We have other CLRs who join TS but mute several of the other players.
When there are 5 or less players in TS one channel is fine but when it gets to be 6-12 it is just too much to have everyone on the same channel, and then like I said nobody types any text messages to the other players in the server.
There is more fun back and forth text chatted when the teams are on separate channels. And when we are typing messages to each other the server takes on a much friendlier feel.
I can set all this up, but it is up to you folks to recruit more folks to be regulars here, we simply do not have enough players to keep a server busy, and as I have said many times most folks, even most CLRs will not sit in an empty server hour after hour day after day trying to get people to play here (except Rossy)....
Also, remember we are quickly moving towards a 64 player game, and 40+ people on one TS channel is not any fun at all.
Dead, you make a good point and it brings up another topic. I don't want all the CLRs on the same team. Last night I was the only guy on my team in TS until Apache switched over. There were 6+ CLRs all on the other team, and thus on the other channel from me. EVERYBODY hates Clan servers that stack the teams, let's not be one of those.
By keeping folks in separate channels, I hope the CLRs will pay attention to, and try to balance themselves onto two separate teams.
I'm really considering some type of team scramble plugin to keep one team from crushing the other team round after round, map after map. Last night when I was on the channel along my team lost I think 8 rounds straight before we squeaked out a round. Most were VERY lopsided, that was not fun at all.
TS is fun and fun for us, but please, please do not forget to make the server fun and funny for the other 90% of the players who come here and never join our TS channel.
My STRONG preference is to split the channels into teams then squads, but I know you guys enjoy chattering, so for now we will stick with just two teams and no squad channels.
So here is the take away:
Please keep the server, fun and enjoyable and recruit new people constantly, it is our only chance to have a busy server to play in, and we can make new friends.
Please keep the teams evenly split with CLRs and those of you with very high ranks please don't all clump on the same team.
I trust this explains why I am doing what I am doing with TS..
That was a blast trying to get the server going today. The last 40 minutes were amazing. 2 squads, 6 medics running at each other with a defib and knife in the middle of the map! I haven't had this much fun since a very long time. I got Furry's dog tags more times in one match than I had in months combined. Now that I log off there's 10 people in TS and the server is kicked up... figures...

You have also done a GREAT job jumpstarting the server, and I appreciate that, and I know the folks who come along later to a busy server appreciate it, but they may not realize the long hours it took for you folks to get us busy!!

SILENCE!! knife hax
I can understand the reasoning behind TS being seperated. It does make us communicate through the game, giving it some nice "atmosphere" to those not on TS.

BINGO!! EXACTLY!!
I was having fun typing messages to Phantom and the guys on the other team yesterday.
I've been Alpha and will be Beta testing the Delta Force game. It's been really getting good reviews! Definitely a good Battlefield feel to it like the...
