Let's all hope that BF3 has working comms.

As someone that played BF2 on Cains back in the day I can say it was some of the most fun I have ever had gaming. Squad based comms. are what made to game fun. The no BS attitude of Cain and his admins kept the server running as smooth as a server can run on the internet.

Everyone should take note as to what Cain is saying. The quickest way to run people out of the server is to stack teams. When you are sitting on the other team with noone communicating and working together it is easy to get pissed when you see a whole team of CLRs stomping your butt.

it is fun to play with people you know but 6 on 6 in the desert makes for a long boring match.

I have been playing alot on the server lately and will try to switch back and forth so each team gets the disavantage of having my old butt on their team. Actually I do not think I am as old as Apache but who is?

You have a good thing going here don't mess it up!

For me personally, I very rarely read or use chat and use VOIP almost exclusively. I enjoy using VOIP for both strategy and chatting. If I am playing but have no one to talk to, either in-game or through TS, etc., it gets boring for me, even if people are using the in-game chat.

I think for me I have to concentrate on the game just to do as mediocre as I do, so I don't normally look up in the corner at the chat messages.

I understand that some people prefer to only use VOIP for strategy, and in-game VOIP like we had in BF2 was great for that.

On the other hand, I love the camaraderie of being able to talk to people on the other team when I kill them, or they kill me.

I personally think we should set the TS up with a "community" channel that you can choose to join that will let players from both teams mingle. If you don't join this channel, you will be autoswitched based on team like we currently have it. Just my

There were 6+ CLRs all on the other team, and thus on the other channel from me. EVERYBODY hates Clan servers that stack the teams, let's not be one of those.

Just experienced this. It sucks. Even moreso when they're all rocket whoring.

That was a blast trying to get the server going today. The last 40 minutes were amazing. 2 squads, 6 medics running at each other with a defib and knife in the middle of the map! I haven't had this much fun since a very long time. I got Furry's dog tags more times in one match than I had in months combined. Now that I log off there's 10 people in TS and the server is kicked up... figures...

well it was u and apple knifing eachother till i brought out my defib.. and then it started an all out defrib match.. me and apple were laughing our butts off in TS.
its a great was to jump start a server. :]

The only problem is that it can be hard to switch when the player numbers are even.
