ugh... I would love it but SF has always caused problems with my pc. For instance I just installed today and now all SF weapons, SF maps, and other things appear as "SF_WEAPON_killed_fsp90" and the like... and I get the usual weird and suspicious message when I start up SF...
"BF2/special forces/models/shaders/lighting.fx cannot be found. (GO) to _________________ (AND) do ___________. (really!)"

And now it kicked me from Cains saying "This server does not allow modified versions of BF2 to play on it. Revert to your original official version to play"
...so im about to un install

Ok, with the way you describe it and knowing the sneakiness EA got starting with these line of games, I would make sure all flavors of virus protection, cookie cleaners, etc are disabled. I do know one game I have with this type of built in detectors does not like my process explorer running in the back ground like I usually keep it.
