Project Reality problem

So Hawkeye convinced me today to download PR because he says it is good training and teamwork. When I first got it I hadn't updated, but was able to play on a LAN with Minfootball and single player. I then downloaded the update. Now when I go to start up, before I can even log in, I get this:




Anyone know how to fix this? Minfootball had the same problem and just re-installed the patch and fixed it. This does not work for me. I am not so great with computers, so I'm not really sure what else to do.

Lineman, do what they say. Just load the game by clicking on the dogtags that PR places on your desktop.

It should all work just fine.


BTW - make sure you download BOTH the core and the maps for PR as they are two distinct downloads and required.

This is not a problem so much as an in convience, all you need to do is to edit the PR Shortcut to PR.exe (Search for it) and then it will work. Its just saying that your trying to run it from BF2.exe not the correct executable.

If it was actually that simple I would have it fixed right now. What I get when I try to both reset the shortcut and start it up straight from the file is a window that says "BF2.exe does not exist. Please check your working directory."

That's because you need the correct "path", or address, to the PR.exe program.

Your Shortcut should look something like this:

"C:\Program Files\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1

But of course with the right directory for your BF2 (might be in the EA directory if you're lost)

I decided that I just wanted project reality for practice for now anyway, so I undid the patch and it works fine for offline or LAN now. Thanks for the input guys. I will probably be back here if Cain ever puts PR up on the server.
