BF2 PiratesV2 release on hold because of EA...

Hey everyone!

Just got some fresh info from 1/2 Hawk:
"The biggest thing we're looking at in regards to a release date is *some* word from EA about when they might drop the 1.5 BF2 patch. We dont want to get a lot of people up in here playing pirates, have that patch screw something up, and then lose 70% of the players because they dont bother to go download a version 2.1 hotifx, right... So until then we're working hard everyday to sexy up the mod and make it better and better. Could probably release tomorrow with what we got but if y'all want to have a longer lasting community to play with, I think we ought to wait just a little bit to see how EA/DICE might screw it all up. If we dont hear squat in the next couple weeks, then theres always Int'l Talk Like a Pirate Day coming up next month which seems as good a day as any being our only holiday in the year. "

Ahhhh waiting for EA to get their butts in gear something. Never seems to end does it.

At least this release will be huge:
"Our current glide path is to bring 16 Conquest maps, 10 CTF maps, 13 Zombie maps, 4 Armada (naval deathmatch) maps, and 10 Rally (racing) maps. We will probably beef up the Armada mode with more maps before the release. [By comparison, R1 had like 7 maps total]. Note that this count does not account for the fact that each of these maps can have up to 3 sizes / versions each - so there will definitely be more than 100 maps that can be mixed in rotation."

Arrrrg I'll just have to wait to dust off my eye patch. I had forgotten about the pirates mod until reading this thread. I liked running around in that swamp map and the Armada maps sound interesting too. This should be fun.
