Anyways, my review of Highway Tampa:
Unbelievably huge... good luck with your tanks, because there is always a walker that comes racing at you rockets blazing and it takes you ten minutes to get from one base to the other in them.
Ive been freezing on it whenever I get in a transport.
Also, you gunships buggers need to watch out, your gunships are landed on the ground, easy pickins!
OK, someone needs to spend more time on the landscping of the Arabian Pennisula cause its bleak... just oil lines and the occasional rock farm (just lines of those upturned rocks from the other maps arranged in GRIDS! and lumpy ground every so often)
Right, there was one good thing... the sheer number of tanks can easily overwhelm anything you put on one of the silos or flags. Basically, thats the only guarrantee that youll live in an assault.

All of the 2142 maps were pretty uninspired, the Titan maps were especially bad though. Does not surprise me in the least that Tampa follows suit. EA probably gave the designers a couple weeks off of slaving over BF:2008 ......errrr, Bad Company to work on this little extra content to pretend like they care.

My 2142 stopped working a while ago, and I can't say I care at all except for possibly a chance to get into Cain's 1 last time if we do that picture thing again. Other than that, I've retired it just like many of the other past games....time to move on to bigger and better things

and it's fun if you can find a wingman, but right now I'm server hopping and getting dominated by clans .... I can usually take one and damage the other but 2v1 is never fun

Well.

You can copy/save your 2142 profile in My Documents, Don't think
you have to do the main program though.
You can then revert back to pre-patch at any time.
When I ran beta we did something like that, will have to re-read
my notes.

I killed at least 2 walkers on every round yesterday with my
little hover tank. Along with a gunship or transport
kill or two. (Until MURPHY showed up to cause me annoyance) lol

And caused me much grief when I was in the gunship gunner seat.
Too many Greenies wanting to play on it after a couple of rounds,
so I let them stat pad Murphy's K/D, and went back to Tanking.

Big Honking maps with lots of long range shooting?

the map is a blast, 3 walkers, 10 tanks, 7 apc's and too many to count FAV's not to mention the 4 gunships. Its Armour heaven.
it might be a couple days before all the servers switch over.

Note if you want to run the patch, as dead and gone said, copy your my documents BF2142 folder and your program file folder and install the patch, simply rename the patched folders and swap back to the old folders to run 1.25. Thats how I was doing it running the Beta's

All I have to say is I love this patch. I am glad that they increased the rate of fire for the shotgun, and personally I like Highway Tampa. Granted this won't really spark new interest in the game, but it does improve the gameplay for those of us who decided to stick with it (although I dont have much of a choice because my computer can't run newer or better games).

I talked to EA yesterday, and from what I gathered, they wont be releasing a mac patch for atleast another month!

Besides all the crashing and having to run my settings on low, i have to wait 2x longer than all you PC users!

damn dude bummer. Well at least you can play on cain's .... I already patched so I'm just server hopping and wishing someone could come fly other other gunship and rock it up. I didn't like the patch at first, but now that I'm used to it I do like the 2 gunships perside.

I like going to the enemy titan on Highway Tampa and taking their gunship on the ground .... 4v2 gunship superiority. Power Play!

How many servers are you guys seeing in the browser? Last night I only counted about a 100 that are patched to 1.4.
