DodgingFox was the only one that went through with my veteran unlock so I guess I'm sticking with that for now.

That's weird - for me I had a different name associated with my veteran status, but when I created "Slink(FSU)" it recognized me as a veteran and gave me the promotion and the "2" icon.

Yes as long as you login with your veteran account, you can create a new soldier and get the promotion. I created 3 soldiers to test this, and received the promotion for each one.

I will be using Kronos[X]{CLR}

Not sure if the squiggles brackets will show up or not, haven't played a game yet, but they did in the demo.
