We've had this situation for quite some time now, both in BF2 and BF2142 and Cain has allowed it for all this time, so you think it would be a dead subject by now. It has come up a couple of times in heated report a jerk threads but the tactic is still allowed on the server, adjust for it. In fact, if you are repeatably being pwnd by jihad tactics (we are talking many many times, like 10+) I think I would either spawn in a different location or set some type of trap for the jihader instead of just doing the same thing over and over and over. If it has happened a few times allready and you dont adjust, there is no reason to expect it to change. Wow, I wish I could find some easy target like that for my expert explosives badge, but they always finally change something or a tactic and am always one or two kills short in a round for the requirements. You might think it is a lame tactic, but rememeber the first sentence of this paragragh.

"Pwn3d Life", I just saw that and had to turn my monitor off to stop laughing so hard... TOO FUNNY!
I'm kinda confused about jihad jeeps and dieing.. why die?
make a nice decoration on you jeep with Demo packs and hop out before impact, hit the detonator.
If your timing is not that hot, and you want to stay in the vehicle and suicide, I'd say, you need to skill up.
FF-on = ftw!

I support Jihading, although I normally live when I do it. It is not hard at all to aim the vehicle at the armor and get out before you are in the death range of the RDX.
I think Jihading is an excellent tactic in situations like Camp Gibralter and a Walker is dominating. A simple Jihad will fix that!

Jihading will basically win a round if you know how, when, and where to do it.
case in point:
playing sidi on conquest i am on PAC i take a FAV prime it with explosives in my special fashion. and then boost the long way around the map. i get to the east side of the bridge (taking long way past where house) and i come up behind all three EU tanks in a nice formation. i boost up throw it between all three of them press the button and get 6 kills. take a guess what steamrolled them to there base and kept them there? all three of our tanks and they had none.

Why would EA give pins/medals for Road kills if it wasn't part of the game? Jihad jeeps/transports are an exploit, i.e. to do something that the designer's didn't envision but is used or done often ingame. They finally killed Otusing on the patch, so one ingame exploit is gone.
If they removed suicide transports, i.e. you can't damage enemy vehicles by colliding with them, then you'd still have the RDX maniacs in the jeeps.
From Previous posting, some people do use strategy and RDX/jeeps to win the game. Most often though, it is a 1v1 kill or attempt. If they jump out before it hits, do they still get the kill on stats for transports? RDX kills would show as explosive's kill. They are taking away assets on the enemy team (Armor), but aren't usually taking silo's.
I see it as another necessary evil ingame since it can't be stopped. Several CLR's are Jihad specialists, and are deadly with them. Transports spawn on TiTan or at most bases very quickly, so they have an immediate "NEW" ride. Jeeps seem to spawn often also. APC's, Tanks, and especially Attack helo's spawn at a much longer time period, so it isn't exactly even or fair.
I LOVE soccer balls when MINE kill 1-2 people in a tank, or 4-6 in a transport. I HATE them when they kill ME. lol
Jihad just doesn't feel Kosher with me, so I personally won't do it. That doesn't invalidate the fact that it IS legal to Jihad. Thread asks if we feel that it is acceptable or not. Personally, I don't like Jihading, so I'd vote for unacceptable.
This would not keep Non-CLR's from doing Jihad though. If I'm on foot and a walker is owning the area, I've certainly got tools to take him down quickly without using tactics that I consider questionable.

If you guys are going to talk smack, make sure I am not reading it. I only jihad so I can get my Gold explosives badge. Instead, I could camp the catwalks with RDX if you prefer it.

as its been said before, jihadding takes little to no skill at all. load it up and run into something. the people who ram or jihad usually are the ones who get pissed or just want to ruin the run for someone else. but since its legal, by all means continue. i like holding grudges and vendettas. i'll help you have a very bad round....

I have to admit that I didn't hold myself to the highest standards when I was going for my gold explosives badge. I didn't car bomb, but I did run around throwing RDX in people's faces.

I'm not sure the "it takes no skill" is a valid argument for why jihad jeeping is bad. There are a LOT of things in this game that take little to no skill to accomplish. APM's, RDX, A12 Sentry, the aforementioned "ramming", Titan guns, motion mines all take little to no skill to reap plenty of "easy" or "cheap" kills.
I've used jihad jeeping in the past, as well as dumping a transport or two when its about to blow, but I don't make it a habit. Mainly because I know its a relatively cheap tactic, and only should be used in extremely desperate situations. If my team is losing, and losing BADLY, and its because theres a tank or a walker or caravan of vehicles that just won't die, then I might throw some RDX their way. But only when other methods of trying to break a strangle-hold on a silo/flag have failed, since I'd much rather get it done on foot with my Pilum than anything else.
I guess it just boils down to how counterable jihad jeeping is. If you know one is coming, there are steps you can take to either save your ride, or at minimum save your hide. It's all about keeping aware of your surroundings and having people spot out potential threats before they're zeroed in on you. APC second seat is also VERY good at stopping a jihad jeeper in they're tracks, no matter how fast they are going.

I'm all for jihad-by-jeep, mainly because I am ground pounding 90% of the time and they pass me right on by.
What irritates me more than anything is when they come into OUR base, take OUR vehicle or walker, and use them against us.
So what is worse... little jeep rolling by full of explosives looking for a tank you aren't in, or sitting in the middle of a firefight, having a nice covered position, and noticing that there are 2 walkers tearing apart your team?
Also, this is my 100th post!

I would like to get the badge any other way besides camping or using jeeps to get the advantage over other vehicles but 30 in one round is a lot without camping and such lol
