i went from having a 7600gt XFX xxx edition to an 8800GTS 320 awhile back, and, TBH, i got way better performance in 2142 with the 7600. here's the kicker though... i doubled the ram? so, with the 7600 i had 1gig, and now i have 2 with the 8800. i can play on medium, somewhat, but flying is definetly out of the question, as i'd say it gets around 20fps when flying, when before with the 7600, i had it on medium and the game ran perrrrrfect, with less ram. loll. i've tried a bunch of different drivers for the 8800, and still no luck. i even went to the extent of reformatting, and installed 2142 with nothing else on ('cept for steam, installed, not running) and, stilll, ultra low fps. same processor too.

its really just how the game is built. I have a 8800gtx, 4 gig ram, e6600 processor. On singleplayer, I can play with everything at highest, full AA, etc, no lag, good fps. On multiplayer I have to play on medium/high, hardly any AA, and it still is a lil chopppy sometimes. EA the way its meant to be played.
I recently tested the new patch 1.50, lag all the way.
Uninstalled the game after 30 mins.
UT3 looks far better and runs like a charm with the 1.3 beta patch.
Guess I'll have to wait for EA Bad Company...Please like Pocket Radio Player on Facebook to support this little Freeware app.Comment

2142 was never great when it comes to performance. I hazard a guess that your new GFX card is being held back by your CPU though.

yeah i did some searching and thats what i found
they better put the environment destruction in there. i was watching youtube videos and the game looked great. too bad they had to skip on us.
i wonder if dice realizes the game is doing better right now but i think in the long run pc games are better cause there is a lot less good games for the pc than platform. Plus new stuff is always coming out for platform attracting there attention away.
i guess they could use pc and platform
of course more people play platform.
