Quick question for those who own it: Do you need the disc in the drive to play? (I hate that.) If so, I'll be downloading it.

Nope you do not need a dvd to play it.

The boxed game is a dvd and you dont need it in the drive to play the online version but you need it in the drive to play single player.

Yup, same here. I just gave the demo a playthrough, and I bought the sucker through Steam right after. I couldn't wait until the weekend to go pick it up from a store. As someone who doesn't play a lot of single player FPSes (I like multiplayer), that was just too amazing to pass up. I can't wait to see what multiplayer is like.
