To be honest with you, I like the boards just the way they are, simple and private.. The new site just seems so commercial.

The new Boards are much more powerful and flexible, and give the Admins many more tools to work with.

They are also more stable, secure and efficient, and they are integrated with the Web page, which currently we are not.

Well if its going to be more stable, secure and efficient, I guess making the switch would be a good thing. I'm sure the members will give it that Cain's Lair feel.

Like I mentioned the other part is the integration.

Right now my tired old Web Page, I made by hand (in 1999), is sitting in South Carolina, while the Forums are in California, and they are not integrated at all...

With the new Site, the Front page, news, forums, are all integrated, and compliment each other.

I'm very glad this is happening! I'd thought for awhile that the front 'www.cainslair.com' page looked outdated. It'll be a huge improvement if all the pages are in one place, with streamlined look, etc.

Do you expect it to go live soon, or is there a lot more work to be done?

Yep my front Web page has been outdated for about 5 years, so I agree with you !!!!

I would say probably by the end of January it should be live.

We intend to import these forums, posters, threads, section, etc, so that is what we are fiddling with now....

I also need to find a good, fast and reasonably priced host !!

Is the subscriptions gonna be to view the forums and the other subscription to play games? Just wondering i was checking links and stumbled on to that page and thought id ask.

Overall its a great page and long over due. its come along way since the reg www.cainlair.com page and ezboards. I think it would be cool though if you had one section that was just for chatting that looked like ezboards be kinda nostalgia

I like the server monitor of the front as well. makes it real easy to see if the server needs a jumpstart.

I dont like the forum titles though noob

I love the recent threads on the front page its always been a fav of mine to see that.

For news id say add images to spice it up like a pic of xmas crash.

But overall its very nice... time flies and the page looks great. 5 stars.
