1/ No hud, you do not see where people are without EARNING the UAV. You will not see how many bullets you have left etc.

2/ No Cross hairs, you use the gun sights for accuracy!

3/ Bullet damage is more accurate, if you hit em they drop.

This game mode takes the game to the next level of intense, the ambiance is even more edge of the seat. This is alot of what I played prior to Cain putting up his great COD4 server.

Thx for the info Limey. Cain thought that out and posted before I was able to ask, so that saved a few extra posts from us fresh meat.
I played on the Lair for about 2 hours last night and ranked up at least. No perks unlocked yet, as I'm not sure which ones to use for my style, altho I think Juggernaut and either Deep Impact or UAV jammer are the best bets.

I'll give hardcore a try, it seems I have a better shot at getting on that server than the hit or miss of TDM.

Well I should do some what better... I can't tell you how many people I have hit with burst fire with the M16 iron sights and they kill me half the map away with a submachine gun. And they didn't see me until I shot first...

I personally like UAV Jammer. 2 of my 4 custom kits use UAV Jammer with a silenced primary weapon and silenced pistol. In regular game modes, a good bit of players go for Stopping Power and tend to stare at the UAV constantly, meaning you can take a lot of people by surprise with a little patience.

In Hardcore, though, I think most people will be less reliant on the UAV, since most players will likely opt for silencers. Still, not showing on the UAV is great for ambushing.

Looking forward to trying Hardcore HQ. I *hope* I do better, as I tend to sneak up on a lot of people, but my silenced MP5's range is so pathetically low, that it takes 10 bullets to drop them at a decent distance.

In Hardcore mode it'll take about 2-3 bullets to take somebody down even with the silencer.

Another important thing to remember is because you don't have a hub it doesn't matter if you are silenced or not because you'll not be visible because there is no hub, the only time where you can be shown is when somebody calls uav.

Hardcore is intense... You DON"T get a second chance if you mess up.

So the run and gun, nade spam randoms, and such, are not going to do
well on hardcore.

It is lots of very real like sneaking and killing.

Why are the silencers so important ?? I'd think that wasn't a worthy upgrade, but I'm a rifle grenade sorta guy. I have yet to try the M16, but I end up getting killed primary by that with guys using M16/red dot.

I always select Auto Assign and end up on the turban team. Do they have a match for the M16/nade launcher ?? I always go Heavy on Team Turban, as I don't deal out enough damage to enemies running around with higher rank and Juggernaut.

As far as calling for a UAV, it will be a long time til I get that 5 kills in a row, but how do I call one in, and how is it controlled ? Stupid questions, .. sorry .. but I might as well ask them here rather than in-game.

The M16 is available regardless of the team you are on. You also only need 3 kills in a row for the UAV. Silencers are not huge when you have perma UAV, but in hardcore mode I think they could be invaluable.

To call in your UAV you hit the "6" on you keyboard, at least that is the default.

Thx again, Limey ! I'm googling the various terms that come up and reading them now, so I better understand what I need to know.

I guess I'm just being picky on what perks to select, as I don't have a clue which combo is best for my style, and likewise for the weapons loadout. I'll hopefully find something that fits for me with a lot more time spent ingame.

I had my ultimate sad experience last night when trying to reload my HMG, and a guy came dashing into the room and knifed me with the greatest of ease.
I just about quit right there ... completely humiliating.
