What do you say to me who moan about Martyrdom

I have only played SP on the 360, would someone mind explaining what martydom is?
Does the character automatically drop a frag when he dies or something? That sounds REALLY lame IMO.

Correct. And that's why it is controversial.

I've since taken it out of my repertoire, and replaced it with Last Stand. I actually find I get more kills with LS then I ever did with Martyrdom. I <3 the Deagle. Well, I also switched because people seem to be unhappy with my play even WITHOUT using Martyrdom...no need to add insult to injury.

I only use martyrdom with my smg class... that way when I charge into the middle of a hardpoint, I kill more people.
I would rather have 3 stun grenades rather than 3 nades to toss across the map as soon as I'm alive. Keeps people from running from my bullets.

Anyway, the launcher (aka noobtube) was more annoying than tossed grenades or martyrdom when I started. But, I've discovered its a very useful substitute for the P90 for people who dont have it yet.

Lets see. You can gun a man down and he is lying there and pulls out a pistol after you've put enough lead in him that you could use him as a boat anchor, and thats fair, but God forbid him live long enough to pullout a grenade and drop it, instead of a pistol ... am I correct?

OH YEAH...

And there is NOTHING ... and I mean NOTHING better than having the martyrdom perk and running into a room full of 5-6 of those little cheezy campers taking turns popping off rounds out of the same door trying to keep anyone from coming in. I run in there and shoot till I'm out of ammo and then knife as many as I can.. I can usually take out 4 before they get me... my martyrdom usually gets the other two. 6 kills 1 death in this scenario.. I'll take that all day long.

You might get more kills with LS, but when I usually gun down someone with last stand.. if I DON'T catch it and they kill me, my martyrdom nade usually finishes the job.

I just don't want to come off as being a "cheap" player. Martyrdom, for better or worse, is truly the "cheapest" perk in the game. I used it for a time because I took the stance "if you can't beat 'em, join em". After thinking about it though, I want to do well because of skill, not because I used the cheapest tactics.

I'm not saying if you use martyrdom you have no skill. I try not to dog on anyone's skill level. Just for me personally, I don't want others to view me doing well just because I use some of the cheaper perks in the game.

If you want to use it....that's great for you. I won't call you cheap, nor will I gripe when I die from your nade. I WILL try to kill you and avoid your grenade to the best of my ability though

Okay after experimenting with noob tube x 2 + martydom, i conclude its not a build meant for close range but for mid to long range. So, seeing that I am using to hitting targets with the p90, noobtubing for me is kinda cheesy. Just ask the CLR who ate my noob rounds. Dont worry, I will probably switch back to my p90 loadout ... when i get bored of this build. And yes I feel so dirty after using this build I have to go rinse my body in the shower.

You know,.. somewhere along the line the fact that this is a G-A-M-E has been lost.

G-A-M-E should equal F-U-N.

So, frankly, I dn't give a damn whether people think I am cheesy or noobish for using the noobtube and martyrdom.


Cuz I have F-U-N using them! And I do get tickled to hysterics when somebody chides me in-game for using them!

Let's get one thing straight here.


I don't LIKE Martryrdom or noobtube, but hell, I've used and still sometimes use the perks. Why use them when you can use YOUR GUN with a nice red dot sight or have a perk that can keep you alive and kicking ass.

The only truely thing I get pissed off about is exactly what drunkenchef said. Someone cooking a grenade, chucking it RANDOMLY without knowing where it's going to land, or knowing if anyone is even in your direction.

I really hate vacant as we all know. The map has bad spawn points for a 50 player server. I keep constantly spawning into gunfire or surrounded by gunfire with my teamates crowding around body blocking everyone and an enemy gets lucky with a grenade.
