The only truely thing I get pissed off about is exactly what drunkenchef said. Someone cooking a grenade, chucking it RANDOMLY without knowing where it's going to land, or knowing if anyone is even in your direction.

I really hate vacant as we all know. The map has bad spawn points for a 50 player server. I keep constantly spawning into gunfire or surrounded by gunfire with my teamates crowding around body blocking everyone and an enemy gets lucky with a grenade.

I started using it after I saw that you used overkill and got 4 noobtubes each round. You got me hooked on it
This is your post in another thread.
You seem top contradict yourself here.

that's it. lame or not there are challenges involving it. i used it for those challenges. then i was done with it. i definately don't find it more annoying than having another player cook a grenade and randomly thowing it over multiple buildings on to my head. I die from that a LOT more than martyrdom and last stand.
QFT, Martyrdom doesn't bother me nearly as much as blind nade throws getting lucky. I decided to give it a try on Bloc yesterday with 3x frag, just hurling cooked nades down the long lanes over and over again without even looking to see if anyone was there, 2/3 nades were either getting kills or at least hitting a target.

same could be said about the snipers on that map as well. They aim blindly at a corner just waiting to shoot. Ive been head shotted through smoke, just rounding the corner. Its the same strategy. See a dot on uav kill it. If you know a hiding spot that always has people in it. Like the stairs on each side of the 2 long paths. You can get almost a kill every time no matter what weapon you use.
I throw a nade in there or i might use shoot through walls with lmg and clear it out over and over and over. I think its fun clearing those stairs out. They think its fun sniping from the stairs enough they sprint back to it every time.

Ive seen the kill cam where ive been headshotted by "close enough shots". I wasnt even in the crosshairs and boom head shot!. Stuff happens though.

It is amazing how some people are going to hate whichever perks or tactics you use. The ones you DON'T hear complaining about it are the ones who have gotten good enough to avoid it. If you have ever been in a real combat situation, it is like on TV where you see a guy dug out in a trench and tosses a nade toward the enemy without even looking to avoid getting shot. I guess you people are suggesting we wait until we are right up ON the enemy and can see the whites of his eyes before we toss a nade? Then it is too late. I'm gonna keep pwning the way I have been and killing you until you do like the others here who are GOOD players, and learn to avoid being killed by it, whether it be Martyrdom or Tossed Nades.

            HOOAH!

            Planning + Skill + Tactics = Success

Well, this is a game that simulates combat. In the real world, if there were enemies holding up behind a brick wall picking off your friendlies with their own cover fire, you'd be an idiot by NOT unloading some nades down behind that wall to try and save a few of the lives on your side. That is a tactic and I am pretty good at placing a nade 1/3 of the way across the map into a group of enemies where I just died.. especially if I have tried to breech that position without success on more than one occasion. If I chunk a nade or three over there before I arrive again, usually I take care of a few and then I am able to get in there. It is called SKILL to be able to be able to know where the enemy is, soften his defense with a nade or two, and then compromise his position by running in and killing him. If I am unable to just run in on him, I use my nades to clear the path for my next charge.

If you're too dumb to stay in the same spot and kill me twice, then you better do some quick thinking because I am gonna keep coming back with a different attack plan until I get you.... then I will wait for you to come back and try to setup again. If any of you haven't noticed, I rarely give up trying to breech a position especially if the enemy is camping a spot. I have about a 95% success rate of killing everyone who is holding up a room or section of the map, even though it may cost me 2-3-4 sometimes 5 lives ... I don't give up. In situations like this I have at least a 1 k/d ratio until I get in where you are.

I must say it can be quite frustrating to be on the opposite team from you sometimes. Especially when we're playing HQ and there are only 4 people per team... (like last night )

This makes me think of BF2142, and how G was so insane with the APC.
It sure wasnt "fair", and I am sure most people didnt have fun trying to take him out because it was damn near impossible, but, like he said, it is a game, and I think that the people who find these things "unfair" are just taking it(the game) a little too serious.
Basically, what I am trying to say is that, if they put it in the game it is fair game to use it, and there is a way to counter it. And if it is actually unfair, it will probably be taken out in the next update, right?
And, to all non G(Geddys Gangster nickname), him using "cheap" weapons/tactics, the increased challenge of killing him should make the game more fun.
I remember constantly getting smashed and blown up trying to kill him in his APC, but, when I finally did, the challenge made it soo much more satisfying.
So go sneak up on him and knife him or something, you will feel great, even though you may have died 10 times trying to get that one G kill.

I thought I'd give it a try, using something besides a red dot. Didn't work out, but I tried it while trying to compete against Aquataine. Of course I failed, he got like what 101 kills with 20 deaths? I got like 40/40.

What I don't understand is when people make it a kit they always have martryrdom, like I have steady aim in all my kits (except sniper and LMG, which I use iron lungs and bullet penetration). As for grenade launcher, it's there, people want easier kills, but I would rather fight close quarters for 400 bullets instead of 4 or barage a window with LMG rounds, and I don't get why people would want to get better with a gun, as for 4 grenades, go die, get 4 more grenades just ruins your score.

Today I went home for lunch and played a few rounds. We were on the Crossfire map, and I Killed 2 with one nade, Killed 3 with the second, killed one with the 3rd then I rushed over behind the big bus and called in an airstrike. After the airstrike killed 4, I rushed into the little store and was surrounded by enemies. I killed one with my knife, shot one, and then I was mortally wounded. Fortunately for me, I had the martyrdom perk and right when I respawned, +50... thats right.. martyrdom nade blew up FIVE enemies... REPEAT PROCESS... killed 5 more with the airstrike, but the round ended before I could call in my next chopper.

The reason why I like martyrdom better is because once you die, the nade drops and already starts you on your next kill streak before you leave spawn. I think I wound up with about 3 - 10 kill streaks that round.

Try that with the last stand perk!
                    HOOAH!

Steady aim is pretty much useless. Most of the guns are accurate enough anyway. I agree with bullet penetration or even last stand though. Bottom line is you WILL die in any given round. This is not like the Battlefield games. That is why i think last stand is a great perk.

lol I've said it once, and I'll say it again...Martyrdom isn't that big a deal. The key is to not go running tword someone you just killed and to back away from people if you kill them close to you. Always assume they've got martyrdom and you'll be ok.

                          People whine about this non-stop.

Here is my opinion... Don't like it ? Play something else and let the rest of us enjoy the game. Does the NoOB-Tube piss me off ? Yes. Cause I am always getting killed by it, but it pisses me of when I get killed by everything else. Its part of the game. It means I need to open my eyes a little more.

If you disagree with it... congratz. I enjoy the game as it is and I hope they add more to it. I certainly don't want to see anything taken away from the game. (cept DownPour... I hate that map to no end)

I am under the impression that if it can kill you then there is nothing noobish about it. People used to whine about the auto-shotty in CS:S... they called it the noob cannon. When ever someone would bark at me cause I used it I would tell them this.

"I'm the one that is still alive so who is the bigger NoOB ?"

In this case... You killed me, but you weren't smart enough to run away before my dead body killed you.

                            LOVE it...
I felt so alone in the way I play this game until I read this. I love the chess match IRC-Mike is discussing here.

And in regards to all earlier comments, I think there is a common value here that I dont mind summing up:

                            1) No one likes being disrupted- Nades are disruptive- you can cook them, they come out of a noob, they plow through you, you think you have good distance and the concussion gets you- whatever.

                            2) Grenades dont take any skill- at least thats how it appears to you when you never saw it coming. My opinion of these comments is that you are tagging on to #1 summary with this extra bit of juice. The reality is cooking a grenade the right way, banking it in, and running in the correct direction while throwing it is a lot harder than most will give themselves credit for.

                            3) We dont like anything that kills us- Tactics that seem to exploit our weaknesses upset us because we cant call CHEAT or HACK on it. Whatever. The variables seem to be balanced to tipping point, because I see an even balance of people who are able to overcome said challenge.

                            4) We dont like any opinion other than our own- This one is for myself too. MY gun is better than yours. MY perk layout is more uber than yourse. blah blah blah.

I think we all might spend more time concentrating on our own perfection of our own preferences, rather than picking out what we dont like about whatever. The worlds best artisans only study fine master pieces as they develop into masters of craft. Same for ourselves as a group. Pick your poison, master it, pwn it (hope I used that right ) and steam roll anyone that gets in front of your gunsight.

This really is a great discussion.

And if those of you who complain haven't already noticed, I bet you a free kill that Every Single One of you who have played on my team have had their lives saved AT LEAST once by my ability to accurately place a grenade. I am the Greg Maddux of nade pitching and I can put one anywhere on any map to clear out the bad guys. I guarantee you I have SAVED more lives with martyrdom than I've actually gained a kill with it.
