I'd have to say no as well, in all the games I've played looking for the enemy pissed me off the most

I like the size of the current maps in rotation at the Lair, but the design of some of them really promotes the nade spam, like Backlot for example. As a counterexample take Crossfire, which has plenty of opportunity for CQC but with that big street running down the middle isn't nearly as spammy, lets people switch up to sniping or medium-range gunning with an AR or LMG.

I guess I'd like to see more maps that promote a mix of sniping, medium-range gunning and CQC, instead of just random lobbing of grenades into crowded areas.

I think the maps are fine
I don't really mind the small maps, there are plenty of nooks and crannies from which to snipe big open spaces.

However, I am considering downloading the modding tools and making a few maps like the overpass in singleplayer or something else. I'm sure someone would want a large map for snipers and a no man's land between.

The thing I like most about custom maps is the creativity of its author. I enjoyed UT1999 due to the fact of the variety of custom maps and the large maps make nice sniper maps. The maps for cod4 are actually too small for snipers, even though some people choose to play as a sniper. I want to see some custom maps that are large enough that you can actually sneak around and play as a sniper instead of the run and gun action which is nearly impossible to do as a sniper unless you have more than one weapon. I look forward to larger maps so that certain tactics can be utilized. We will eventually see what the popular demand is once the dev tools are released. Then we will have more of a variety of gameplay.

It may be a while before any decent maps are made....folks are having a real hard time figuring out how to use the modding tools. Plus, unless IW releases a patch allowing servers to run custom maps and stay a ranked server you might not see them here if Cain wants it to stay ranked.

I figure that some maps will be approved for tracking. In a case like this they usually have custom map contests and such. That has been my experience in the past, but who knows. We'll find out sometime sooner or later.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
