here's the how and why (page 3 of comments)

This is by design and not a 'glitch' or bug.

You are simply hitting the switch weapon button twice after the new magazine is inside or making contact with the weapon. The reason this was done was so that if you reload a weapon and you have already put your new full magazine in the chamber, we don't want the animation to have to start all over again if you happen to go into sprint or knife/melee. This would be very annoying.

    Thanks,
    Chance - IW

P.S. sounds like you've got to be very quick with your fingers to it

Gah... so many references to the ammunition feeding device as a clip... *twitch twitch*

It's called a magazine. An example of a clip is the piece of metal used by the M1 Garand that holds 8 rounds and makes the "ding" sound when ejected from the weapon.

This educational PSA brought to you by nikaios.

I hear you though, I see the same thing all the time and it is frustrating to watch.

Lol - that's the first time I saw that article. Good stuff. Like the article says, if you refer to a mag as a clip especially in a real life conversation you make it painfully clear that the only things you know about guns were from video games.

That said, I need to practice that fast reload... :P

I spent a decent amount of time shooting as a kid and I still call them clips occasionally, even though I know better.

It's like calling a "ship" a "boat" or vice versa. It's irrelevant to most of us, but tell the captain of a destroyer he has a nice "boat" and be prepared for a long swim.

The little things in life are always worth complaining about.

We are never completely happy unless we have something to complain about that makes us realize just how good other things are.

I never played hardcore back then, but we played maybe a dozen matches together.

I just learned something, and I am happy about that.

I will never make this mistake again.

I remeber that. Do you remember the old quick switch, for the AWP, in CS 1.6?

CS 1.6 was terrible when it came to the quick-switching... I would quick-switch almost any gun back then. I used to quick-switch in CSS as well until I discovered the Quick-switch option... lol. But even with the quick-switch option, I was faster when I did it manually. When I moved from CS/DoD into BF2... I can;t begin to tell you how much of a pain I had trying to break my Quick-switching habit because BF didn't use any features like it.

It will be a feature I miss in future games.... But I bet my finger won't miss it. lol
