Third the notion of stopping power and deep impact, and go with the Grip when you unlock them. I would be running around with one of the LMGs most of the time (after I get all the challenges) if they weren't so bloody slow to swing up from a sprint or a sudden turn-the-corner into a rifle situation. The assault rifles win that every time.
But in general usage, a LMG used sparingly is going to be a very good all around weapon.
Like any weapon, I only do 3-5 round burst and that means one kill every
burst.
True, however range factors into accuracy though (the Uzi's as accurate as the Barrett at 5 feet) and the range on the LMGs is quite low, never minding the recoil. An M16 with Stopping Power is a better choice for one shot kills if your playstyle based on quick bursts, as it has incredible range, is deadly accurate, allows you to sprint much farther/faster, and can be equipped with the mighty Noob Tube if you so desire!

Umm...
Does this work for anyone else? My sprint speed seems the same whether or not I have my primary weapon equipped, and the speed itself seems to be determined by the class of the primary weapon (SMG = fastest, LMG = slowest).
lol I just noticed my typo with spelling running. Well as far as I know, I notice that I run faster with my pistol out. Maybe it's in my head. Realistically thinking here...if I had a big gun in my hands, I'd run slow. If i held a small gun and the big gun is just loosely slung over my should or on my back, I would think that I'd run faster!

Agree with this guy. Add smoke to that and you can get close to the baddies and do some serious harm with them before you snuff it in a blaze of glory. The pain with them is the long reload times. You really need to get somewhere safe before hitting that R key.

Yeah I also tend to do this, at least when I'm running to get into position (like the beginning of the round) when I know I won't run into the enemy for at least a few seconds.
Also, I almost always pull out my pistol when trying to call in an airstrike or Chopper, since you can request more often because the pistol draw is so fast. If I have the LMG out, takes like 3 seconds for every call. :P
I just started using the M60 again, and boy did I forget how much fun this weapon is (especially at range)
Most of you have known me only for my LMG work.
So here is the nut of it.
The LMG is most accurate at a half screen distance, with close encounters and longer distances being difficult to deal with.
Closer is a challenge due to spray factors
Farther due to the fact that you need the deep penetration in order to score significant damage.
Supression-
on Vacant you will see me enter a room and spray the words "PWNED" all over a wall whereby on the otherside lies a bunch of bad guys. I will get kills, trust me - as someone here called themselves the "Maddux" of nade tossing- I am the freaking roto rooter of LMG walls smashing. I have a unique talent of creating enough craziness in a wall that allows us to exit an area that we are pinned in.
In terms of taking a building where the enemy has high ground- again- I dont care if I die in that scenario- snipers are irritating- and I will spray your position for no reason and with no accuracy to make you run all over hell and forget about the people coming up behind you.
In terms of street control, on some maps if there is a narrow exit point and we are moving away from it or need to bottle it, I will lay down heavy bursts and toss nades in succession and a pattern to slow people down-
AA Guns
The LMG is my favorite AA weapon. I think if you have an LMG in your hands it is your OBLIGATION to take out the helo. I do - and I feel good about knowing that people with accurate weapons still have the munitions to put scores on the boards. They tally a 3 :1 ratio of kills over my work with the LMG. Therefore, it is a given that there is a certain value in accuracy, and in being true- I am also carrying between 200 and 300 rounds- compared to the 60 rounds the SMG will be carrying. Again- Point your LMG at the sky and put em down hard.
Less is More
Most people put down too much in their burst. Tap the gun, dont click it. A click wastes ammo and makes accuracy a foregone though.
Aim where you want to be, and fire gently. Use a crouch or prone position to secure your weapon. I prefer crouch as it still provides a degree of mobility if you need to move.
Fire a few shots and move on. Its just like a sniper, except you cant run that fast so and you are the red dot on the map no matter what thanks to the noise factor. You might as well drop a few pops and move on.
Map Control
Watch the UAV- become a master of the visible in a way that you dont even remember watching the UAV.

This.....+1000
Takes about 1 full clip from any of the LMGs to take down a chopper, less if you have help of course. 3 LMGs can kill a chopper in about 5 seconds, making a chopper a minor annoyance at worst with decent teamwork.
Of course I ALWAYS shoot at the enemy choppers (no matter WHAT my weapon...except for shotguns ), because they most often gun for the top player or two on your team (I feel like a constant target ).

AMEN!!!
If you're carrying a LMG it's your duty to shoot down helos!!!! So YOU don't get any points, but your team mates will be able to continue getting points, and the point is to win the round, not get individual points.
A change of Pace.

yeah i shoot down helo's no-one ever helps me though, i reckon if we had a single team with only Clr's there would be no stopping us. we all know how to play half decently and beyond so yeah
Everyone should be shooting the helos, though granted the LMG guys will take it down faster. But when I was getting my G3 headshots, I was shocked at how many times my single shot pings were the only hits on the things.
Shoot them down people. Otherwise they're just going to keep your team down, and keep you from getting your own helos up.
Well, I finally made my back to the lair! I hope fortune has blessed everyone this new year! I've got some updates, dad (Todd98 )is over 60....yall send...
