    Help me plzzz!!!!

I just got COD4 this weekend and really looking forward to playing with everyone again... However, I'm soooo lost.

I was wondering if theres a site I can go to for hints and tips and learning the game play. If anyones willing to share any secrets or help, It would be greatly appreciated.
So go on, go on be your own, go on be your own star!

I've gotten a few good tips just from browsing older threads on this forum.

    actually, try this one :

There's only one site I go to for anything game related : www.gamefaqs.com

There's a little bit of good info there, but their message boards are full of ... well, people that wouldn't fit well into the CLR community. People aren't very nice over there - in my experience.

Any specific things you would like information about? There's plenty of cool people here, and I'm trying to be nearly as good as them.

Spectate someone like Drisel or CarbonFire. They're masters at this game.

In my opinion, the best way to learn the game is to dive in. That is just what I prefer. It is really tough at first, but give it maybe 3 weeks. I am now to the point where I have more kills than deaths almost every round. Good luck and happy hunting!

My two biggest suggestions: Learn what all the keys do, and learn all the maps (at least all the ones that Cain plays). Personally I'd suggest running around on an empty server just so you can get a general feel of the layout for each one. It will of course take a lot of time in order to really get a feel for how each map plays, but at least you won't be totally lost.

It will take some time to get a feel for all the weapons and general speed of play, theres just no way around it. Mostly, I'd suggest playing on the Cain's Lair when it's NOT completely full.....it can be pretty overwhelming with 50 players fragging the crap out of each other on a map like Crash or Vacant (both smaller maps with small chokepoints).

Just stick with it, don't mind that you may suck at the beginning, it'll come to you eventually when you find a weapon you like to use

+1 to everything said so far. The main thing is just stick with it and expect to have a lot of rounds with a lot more deaths then kills. The main thing is just getting a feel for the guns and perks and tweaking them till you find something you like. Plus a lot of the people that play now have been playing since near the release and are also rank 55 so they have access to everything. Just stick with it and you will get there!

Spend a little time in the single player game. You get the feel of how things operate and you don't get killed every 30 seconds. Then jump in, pick a side and shoot anything that doesn't generally resemble you. If you hear "tink, tink, tink" you should run away.

                  1. Don't worry about getting killed all the time. This is a game involving a very high amount of personal fatalities. (or maybe thats just me? )

                  2. Be careful when lobbing grenades as they sometimes bounce off people, objects, window frames, and other miscillanious things and hit you in the face. (or maybe thats just me again? )

                  3. Beware of Aquataine and his Series of Tubes. (Maybe... no, thats everyone. )

                  4. NEVER, EVER, stop in doorways, hide in doorways, stop moving while in a doorway, or go prone in a doorway.

                  5. If you have an RPG launcher, or a light machine gun, or a decent assault rifle, shoot the enemy helicopters. Don't just assume others will.

                  6. Watch out for nade spam.

                  7. Smoke. Lots and lots of smoke. Stops the snipe spam.

Best advice I could give is to get movement down COLD. Be able to walk, sprint, crouch, prone, and peer around corners without thinking about it. Learn that you can only sprint forwards, not sideways or backwards, get comfortable doing a quick 180 and sprinting away from danger/nades. Learn to instantly evaluate nade warnings on your HUD and be able to immediately sprint away.

After that the rest of the game is cake really. Good luck!

Well for me I found playing single player first helped me get use to the game (first FPS on a comp). Then after a couple weeks of getting my tail kicked in multi player I turned up the brightness of the game and a amazing thing happened. I was able to see the people shooting at me or just running around. Set up your controls to fits your play style. I had a heck of a time knifing people without hitting the wrong button on accident, so I switched my knife and jump buttons. Now I can knife people, just not as efficiently as other. Like everyone else say keep at it and don't get discouraged.

My advice is to get into a game, and if it moves- shoot it.
Run around like an idiot and die alot.

Just dont stand in doorways- it makes hamsters get all rabid and ugly.
