I wish there was a server somewhere that was set up with no airstrikes, no choppers and no freekin' grenades. I was so p.o.'d tonight I had to quit and go pet the dog just to keep from throwing the freekin' mouse across the room. Got so angry at watching a kill cam of someone pitching 3 grenades and then spawning in under a freekin' air strike

I'd have to agree. They try making these games realistic, but players have no worries about teamkilling, or the fact that "this grenade is going to kill a human being" like you'd have in the real world.

It'd be fun, given how well the weapons are done. but you'd basically have to make it a high-profile mod to get enough foot traffic to make it viable (like Project Reality for BF2). I suppose you could just run an unranked server with all those settings....but how do you get people to play there?

You convince them to do what I did:

1. Spend 2 days on a 24/7 Shipment FFA server to get rank 55 and unlock almost all the goodies, ensuring that you use the appropriate weapons to get the weapon unlocks you want (you may need to spend some time on a 24/7 Wet Work server to get the sniper unlocks).

2. Observe that once you have your unlocks, player stats in COD are not worth tracking especially if you play on 50 man pub servers.

3. Realizing that, embracing the freedom to play on *gasp* unranked servers which offer a slightly more realistic playstyle than SMGs taht shoot through concrete walls, grenade rain and non-stop airstrikes.


But #1 is the key, if you're worried about playing on ranked servers because you're trying to get gear, you really need to think about grinding on a 24/7 Shipment FFA server as even noobs like me will get 50 kills in 5 minutes.[/list]

Ya I love going into shipment ffa's and getting all 150 kills in one match. After that is done I normally switch to a different class to spam upgrade it too.

I do have to agree with the original post though. Nade and air support are probably what kill me the most and it gets a little frustrating It seems that no matter how hard or fast I try to run away from martyr it always gets me

Really the only time Marty gets me is when I try to sprint away but there are 5 noobs crouching behind me blocking my exit. Imagine a server with Marty turned off?

The CONSTANT air strike earthquakes drive me nuts. And I promise from here on out I will put 1 clip into the chopper if I don't have rpg's.

Turning on FF might help a bit. If you have to worry about killing Teammates you are less likely to blindly chuck grenades across the map.
